This was some of the best if not THE best Indian food I’ve ever had. No hyperbole. I mean it. Crazy that it’s right outside Bancroft!

Clearly made with love, none of it was greasy, portion sizes were generous and the cuts of meat used were good (you know how sometimes you get goat and it’s nothing but bone? Not the case here). You can tell the difference in quality coming from this family owned restaurant to Indian food even in big city establishments.

Spicy without being hot (unless you want it like that) we tried many different dishes on the menu. Between my father, my wife and myself we couldn’t get enough of the flavours. From mango shrimp to garlic nan! The goat curry is phenomenal.

Just wow. Absolutely blown away. They’ll even give you red and green chili’s to throw into your food if you want it even spicier. I live two hours away but I’ve been thinking about the meal we had for the past few days.

This sounds like a weird compliment, but again, speaking to the extremely high quality of the food and how delicious it was, I rode my motorcycle back home for two hours and not once the whole night did I get a telltale gurgling in the belly.

Really! Do yourself the favour and go eat here! It’s worth it!

Holy smokes, this place is phenomenal! Excuse the pictures, I took them part way through eating because I’m not really one to photograph my food, and I had my dog in the car so I got take out… Wow! Realistically I could’ve taken home the butter chicken and the garlic naan and shared it, the portions being generous. This is the best butter chicken I’ve ever had. Definitely a must-stop if you’re in the area!

The Curry House Bancroft : Such a nice Indian experience! I can’t imagine in this area (remote area but close to Algonquin Provincial Park) an Indian restaurant with North Indian dishes. We ordered combos for 6 people ️ – plenty of quantity. They provide 2 veg and 2 non-veg curries and starters. Overall, it’s good for a stop on your route . Ample parking space ️, wheelchair accessible ♿, and clean washrooms make it even better.

Very impressed with my first two meals from here. Everything was awesome and the takeout was still hot and cooked perfectly when we got home. I definitely will be returning to try more items from the menu and I absolutely will be recommending eating here to others! Great new addition to the area!

Ladies night out!

We shared dinner for 4, which was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing, very tentative to our needs. The prices were very reasonable.

Absolutely recommend that you pop in here and have a bite to eat- you won’t be disappointed

Decent Experience but….

I recently visited the Curry House and while the food was good for the area, it didn’t quite meet my expectations compared to other places I’ve tried. Our order consisted of Dal Makhani and Chicken Korma. The Chicken Korma was very good and savory, but the Dal Makhani seemed undercooked, felt the lentils could have been softer. Note: mains come with rice which is a nice touch. Additionally, the samosas were dry inside and the dough was heavy. The garlic naan was a bit flat and lacked the pillowy texture, suggesting it might not have been cooked in a traditional tandoor. We also weren’t asked for our preferred spice level, and both dishes seemed to have the same level of spiciness. Overall, it was an okay dining experience, but there’s room for improvement. Saying all this, I’d come back to try something else.

Decided to give the new restaurant a try and we were not disappointed. Order way more food then we could eat but had to sample a few items. The Smashed Samosa Chana Chaat was to die for! The Naan was great to dip into the sauce of the Angus Beef Curry which was spicy but not horribly spicy. The amount of beef which was so tender was wonderful. We also ordered the Kadai Chicken and Chicken Biryani. Both presented so nicely and had such lovely flavour. Nothing was greasy and the portions were fantastic. All was well worth the wait and cost. We look forward to trying some other dishes on our next visit and we will enjoy the leftovers that we were able to bring home. Thank you so much and it is so nice to get some ethnic food close to home.

Should have left when I was washing my hands in the washroom and saw tiny bugs crawling around the sink area. Ordered butter chicken. First bite got smacked in the face with a super sweet sauce. I was a little confused so I tasted the butter chicken again and it was pure sugar. Spoke to the waiter and he told me that butter chicken was a “sweet curry” and that’s the way it’s supposed to be. I’m not i dian food expert but I’ve never had butter chicken that tasted like a fist full of sugar. Sent it back and he brought spicy curry beef. No flavour. Just heat. Beef was hard. We gave up. Paid and left. Btw, we tried the samosas and they appeared to be from a bag, frozen. No flavor.

This was a gem find in the outskirts of Bancroft! So happy to have found such a great restaurant near our annual cottage trip; it is conveniently located next to the kawartha dairy store so it was great to grab dinner and dessert next door.

The food is great and the pricing was amazing; great value for what you pay and the service was awesome. Would highly recommend!

We got the dinner for 4; we got the butter chicken, goat curry and vegetable korma along with the samosa chicken. Would definitely come back!

Very friendly employees who greeted us and ensured we had everything we needed. Remarkable what the two employees could do with 25 of us in the restaurant. They hosted, served, prepared and cooked out meals.

Owner you have amazing team members!

Look forward to your opening of your restaurant in Wilberforce!

Food was awesome, thank you we will be back!
