I recently hosted an intimate baby shower brunch at The Crown Bistro, and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish.
When it came to booking the venue and selecting our food and beverage options, I worked with Emily, who was incredibly responsive, organized, and so easy to work with. She made the planning process smooth and stress-free, which I deeply appreciated.
During the actual event, Greg took care of us — and he was absolutely amazing! He continuously ensured that both my guests and I were well taken care of. He was attentive, proactive, and quick to provide answers or solutions whenever I had a question. Even my guests went out of their way to compliment his stellar service.
The food and drinks were also delicious! My guests especially loved the turkey fig sandwich platter — it was definitely a crowd favorite.
I highly recommend booking The Crown Bistro for your next event. The service, atmosphere, and overall experience were exceptional, and I couldn’t have asked for a better venue for such a special day.

Food was good, but noise levels were over the top! I was at a table for 6 with friends. Service was good, but restaurants Need to do a better job of keeping noise levels down!!!! Acoustics people!!! We weren’t able to have a decent conversation ! An easy fix could possibly be adding rugs & wall hangings that absorb noise.

Our experience at this wedding venue was deeply disappointing due to what we believe was racial discrimination. From the very first meeting, which I attended alone, I was met with an unwelcoming and dismissive attitude. This feeling intensified during our second meeting when I brought my fiancé with me, where it became clear we were not the type of clients they wanted to work with.
The staff’s behavior was consistently unprofessional. Our questions were met with short, unhelpful answers, and the event managers were overtly disrespectful to my African American decorator. The most insulting moment occurred when one event manager condescendingly asked me, a well-traveled and educated Black woman, if I knew what pork belly was. This question felt deliberately demeaning and out of place.
When we voiced our concerns about feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, the venue’s response was completely dismissive. They offered no apology, and their lack of genuine concern confirmed our suspicions about the source of the negative treatment. Due to this experience, we were forced to cancel our wedding at the last minute. We found another venue that respects its clients, and we will never return to Crown Bistro.

I attended a Bridesmaids Luncheon on May 1, 2025. The venue was clean and appropriately decorated. Greg was our on-site contact and he was wonderful! He was attentive and responded promptly to all requests. We did a little extra decorating (table setting with linens, flowers and such – nothing major) only because we are Southern women and OCD about that stuff. The food was spectacular and plentiful. I didn’t give everthing 5 stars because then they would have nothing to aspire to. All in all, a very pleasant and special experience. Kudos to the Crown Bistro!

I was there today with seven friends. Three of us ordered the chicken club sandwiches. Our sandwiches were out of this world fantastic. Best sandwich I have ever had. All of us loved our food, except that one friend, who ordered the shrimp and corn soup, had one shrimp in her bowl of soup. She wasn’t going to say anything, so I brought it up to the waitress when she asked how our food was. The waitress’s response was, “Well, we were really busy.” Then she asked how that one shrimp was. My friend didn’t find her comment funny. So I guess when they are busy, you might get your food served properly or you might not. A simple apology would have been enough for my friend, but the comment shouldn’t have been made.

The venue genuinely does not deserve one star, but in order for me to leave a review I had to rate them. Let me start out by saying that I have been here for brunch prior to 04/23/2002, and have never had any issues. I booked a brunch for my mother’s 63rd birthday, with roughly 10 guests. When I spoke with Gabrielle ( restaurant manager), she informed me that she had two other large parties around the time that I was booked for, so our food may take a little while to get to us, due to kitchen having one oven. Because she was gracious enough to provide this information ahead time, I let her know that I was totally understanding of their situation, and would order champagne and appetizers ahead of time, as to not have my mother’s guests sitting for an hour with no refreshments. I went in the Thursday prior, and paid $250 for appetizers to be ready upon our arrival. The event started for 11a, in which all guests arrived on time, with the exception of myself. Once I arrived at 12p, I seated myself and asked my mom if entree orders had been taken? She responded with no, telling me that the waitress, Kara was waiting for me to arrive to begin to put orders in. I sat for 30 minutes and the waitress never acknowledged me, came back to check on our table, or even refill drinks… As a matter of fact, she stood conversing with two other women at a table adjacent from ours. At 12:45p, I excused myself from the table and, apologized to Kara for interrupting her conversation, but whenever she was ready, my guests were ready to order. As I turned my back and walked away, my guest witnessed Kara roll her eyes at me, then as I take my seat, I witness her very disrespectfully lift menu’s in her hand to her mouth, and proceeds to talk about me and my guests, to the two women at the other table. The two women then start looking at our group as if there were some type of issue. I am completely puzzled at this point, so once Kara finally makes her way over (5 minutes later), I begin to voice my concerns. Kara immediately cuts me off, without apology and grabs her manager. The manager, Ms. Gabrielle, was also dismissive, and took things a step further when she allowed Kara to challenge me in front of guests and other employees. Never pulling her from the floor or trying to diffuse the situation, other than positioning herself somewhat in front of Kara, during a verbal exchange that I was having with her employee, who had the audacity to give me a hard stare, for simply asking for her name to make a formal complaint for her extremely poor service . This establishment will NEVER see my money again, retail or restaurant side. Also, to add injury to insult I am of African American decent, as was Kara…. Everyone else there that day, including the two women she was so kindly attending to…. Caucasian. In the future train your black employees to check their attitudes at the door… Thank goodness I have common sense, because this could have ended horribly had it been someone else.

The Crown Bistro is hidden gem in Baton Rouge. Their food is amazing and I am especially a fan of their berry goat cheese salad. We have always had attentive service here which keeps us coming back.
