At first I thought this place is a little over priced, but after tasting similar food around crystal river and orlando we still still think that our first meal here is the best. The seasoning for each dish was on point, nothing burnt, nothing overcooked or dried. We really love their gator bites, it was well seasoned and very tasty. Shrimp and grit was really yummy as well. It is a very busy place so it takes awhile to get served.

I got a recommendation to stop by the crab plant from a few locals and now I know why.
The atmosphere is great and service was on point! If you can snatch yourself a table next to a window, you’ll be sure to see some pelicans, birds and other local wildlife. The food was good overall although some items stood out among the rest such as the shrimp and grits.
If you’re already in crystal river, I would recommend grabbing some food here!

Had lunch here at Crab Plant and loved it!
I went in around 2 pm ish on a weekend and they were pretty busy. Luckily, I was alone so I got seated at the bar right away. The server, Courtney, was super friendly and attentive.
I ordered a glass of a local craft beer (Copp King’s Bay), with Stone Crab (cold) and Conch Fritters. Everything was delicious! The crab was fresh and juicy, and the conch fritters were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with a little kick to them.
They only accept cash, so be prepared! I had to use their ATM which had a $2.75 fee.
Great food, excellent service, and a fun spot to try local seafood.

Maybe best stone crabs ever. So tender and sweet and fresh, even though boats hadn’t been out in 4 days because of cold. Detoured over here from trip down the state, after finding it online (our previous sources have closed). We’re used to really fresh stone crabs, harvested by a local captain, but these were absolutely right up there with the best ever. AND they were about $7 cheaper per pound than we find in the Tampa Bay area. Grouchy staff, but without being asked, she poured ice under and above the stone crabs (and frozen bay scallops we bought), and secured them for their ride home in the car.

Sit on the bayou and enjoy the freshest seafood directly from the boat to the kitchen!
The bucket crab was the best dinner we had in Florida. You smash a steamed crab with a mallet and it was fun even for the whole family. BEST CRAB I HAVE EVER HAD! Oysters were so fresh and delicious. I will make the trip to the Crystal River anytime just to eat here! Service was great old fashioned locals that made the experience so enjoyable!

Great fresh seafood, and gorgeous views of King’s bay. Cash only, atm available.
Been here a few times and just never left a review I guess. Went today and had blackened red snapper tacos, and they were awesome! You can eat outdoors within view of the boats that caught your meal. It just doesn’t get fresher.

Beautiful restaurant and outdoor seating. Best priced seafood around, the stone crabs were amazing and they have their own boats and market. A lot of it is fresh.

We brought the family here for dinner after the recommendation from our manatee tour guide earlier in the day. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and super attentive. They close earlier than other places, but we never felt rushed. All of the food was amazingly fresh and delicious. I’ve never seen my daughter, who typically eats like a bird eat so much food. The seafood boil was a huge hit! The red snapper was some of the best fish I’ve had. This no-nonsense seafood restaurant is a must!

I spent the summer in Crystal River caregiving for family. It was recommended that I tried The Crab Plant. The crab legs were outstanding! Visited several times during that trip. Will be back.
