The Coxcomb is a family owned and operated neighborhood restaurant and bar. Our menu is made from scratch, using the highest quality, farm fresh ingredients available. We make our pizza dough and sandwich rolls by hand every morning. Our bar is stocked with amazing beers, spirits and cocktails that ensure we have something to keep everybody happy. With daily specials for lunch, happy hour, dinner and every Pittsburgh sporting event, there’s always a reason to stop in. Our neighborhood is near and dear to us and our staff. We’ve grown up here, we live here, our children go to school here. We tried something new to us last night. The Coxcomb was perfect! We started with the Fry Tray which included 6 different sauces made in-house, so good! The homemade ranch and Coxcomb sauce were our faves! Our entrees included The Gouda and the Loaded mac. The Gouda included a side which we got the Corn Ribs with elote sauce. Everything was seriously so fresh, tasted great, and the portions were huge for the price! We both took half our meals home because we filled up on the fries which were perfectly seasoned. We wanted to end the meal with dessert which was the honey balls. Fresh fried dough balls tossed in honey and cinnamon & served with a side of a cream cheese dip. So good! There were so many options to choose from! I can’t wait to go back to try the pizza, it looked amazing, as did the wings!! The restaurant itself was very clean and inviting. It’s a great place to go on date night, a girls or guys night out, and even a great place to being the family. A new favorite spot for us for sure!

It’s not clear to me this restaurant wants to sell food – no one spoke to us for 15 minutes after we sat down. No check in, no taking our drink order, no food. Just nothing, until one member of our party walked up to the bar and asked for service (he also had to wait several moments at the bar and talk to three people to get attention)
After we were eventually assigned our waitress, Claire (who did a good job) it was fine not great. The food was forgettable, and it took a long time to come out. Also they did something odd with the top of my beer (pictured)

Solid spot for pretty good bar and American food. Not sure why the reviews skew so negative. I got to try their classic white pizza.
It was a great size and a solid deal for a well made pizza. Nothing exceptional, but still, very good. They definitely did not shy away from the garlic or the pepper with this pizza, perhaps excessively so. But, it was very thin and very flavorful, so I don’t mind.
It’s well worth a spot if you want to watch a game and also enjoy some pies, wings, and other classic American items without breaking the bank.

This was my first visit to this restaurant, which, according to our friendly server London, has been open for about two years. Despite being tucked into a plaza, it gives off the vibe of a much larger, standalone spot. The atmosphere is laid back with a casual bar like feel, perfect for a relaxed evening out.
The menu is surprisingly extensive, offering everything from hearty sandwiches to full entrees. Portion sizes are generous, and the food was quite good overall. London was excellent, attentive, personable, and happy to answer my questions about the restaurant.
I made a reservation through their website rather than calling, and while it worked, it did take three hours to receive a confirmation. When I was there on a Thursday evening, the restaurant wasn’t very busy, so the reservation may not have been necessary that night. That said, it’s probably a good idea to reserve ahead if you’re planning to visit on a weekend.
All in all, a solid experience and I’d definitely return to try more of the menu!

Took my parents to try this place for the first time last night and everything was absolutely wonderful! My dad and I both got variations of the fried chicken sandwich and it was bigger than my head! The fresh cut fries were crispy perfection. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich and it was overflowing with meat to the point he had to attack it with a fork before he could even take a bite of the whole sandwich. My mom got the burrata salad and is still talking about how fresh the arugula was for this time of year. Service was attentive, friendly, and prompt. We will definitely be back again, can’t wait to try the pizza or stromboli, it looked mouthwatering every time we saw it being made. Thanks for a great first experience at your establishment!

Myself, my niece and aunt came into today. We tried steak hoagie, fried pickles, corn ribs, honey balls, fish, and chicken fingers. All were served hot and promptly. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The corn ribs were delicious. We liked the fact that we could get our chicken in different rubs. We will be back!

My family and I had an excellent evening and were very impressed by the appetizers we got. The stromboli was amazing, with the perfect crust (shell). They offered a BBQ Platter, but some of the items that usually come with it were not available. Other than that, the service was wonderful and I appreciated their commitment to local suppliers! We were all happy with our choice to go here!

Such a great find! The fried pickles and dipping sauce are amazing, the fry tray with dipping sauces are so good. The fry seasoning is great. I had the mortadella panini – definitely would get it again. Restaurant is clean, quick service, would love to come back for happy hour some time!

Came here on a Saturday, I’ll start with the pros. The people were nice and the trivia was the best part. The CONS, host gave us no silver wear, service took a VERY long time, and the food was terrible. Everything you order is extremely greasy. We both ordered chicken sandwichs which I was excited for but ended up being terrible. As the chicken pulled apart it looked grey and like it had been sitting in a freeze for a while. I do not recommend eating here, unfortunately, as I had high hopes.
