I dont normally write bad reviews, but this place was just AWFUL. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. We waited and waited and started to think they had lost our ticket. Finally the dip came out and the waitress also said our food was ready and she didn’t want it to just sit on the warmer. As she sat it down she said that the gravy for my chicken fried steak was put on the side, so she had to go back for it. Both our plates came with mashed potatoes, that were cold, and green beans that were inedible. The green beans were not cooked and they tasted bizarre like they had been tossed in floral bubble bath. The gravy did not appear until after we had given up on it and eaten the steak without it. The waitress sort of apologized just blaming the kitchen and saying this wasn’t the first time they had done that “to her” she was more concerned about her inconvenience than the guest with an incomplete meal. There was no compensation offered, we paid full price for a meal that was half eaten. SKIP THIS PLACE! GO TO VAUGHNS.

The Cove in Mount Vernon is one of our favorite places to relax, eat, and enjoy the lake life. Being able to drive the boat right up to the dock and walk into the restaurant is such a cool experience. Whether we’re grabbing a pizza or going for the grilled shrimp, the food is always fresh and hits the spot.
The salads are also surprisingly great—crisp, flavorful, and made with care. It’s a laid-back atmosphere with friendly service and great views. Perfect place to unwind after a day on the water. Highly recommend if you’re out at the lake or anywhere nearby!

I surprised my family with a pontoon boat rental from The Cove, and we had an absolute blast! The ladies were so kind and welcoming, and the boat was clean and in good condition. We made such great memories out on the water, can’t wait to do it again! And yes add the tube!!!

First time to visit and it is breathtaking to sit outside with views of the lake. Had a great playground which we loved for the grandkids that was contained in a fenced area where we were. Picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, fire pit all looked wonderful. They also have a lit sand volleyball pit. We didn’t try any alcoholic beverages but food was good. We would come back again. Really cool that you can drive there or get there on the water with your boat as they have places to dock! Oh, added bonus is live music!

Can’t say enough about how great and impactful their lodging accommodations, their restaurant, and their rental services are for this community!! They bring SO much life to this area of Texas. All their staff members are extremely professional and always give excellent service. We stayed at one of their cabins a while back and loved it so much between the stay and the food we thought since my parents are visiting us nearby we would come back to visit and rent a boat with them as they are the perfect place to bring your guests to entertain. Ryan has gone above and beyond to make this entire experience exceptional. Would definitely recommend as a place for couples for some relaxation or for the whole family to have the best time! Thank you so much to the Cove!

Love the atmosphere here!!! We were only in town for a month but went to the Cove as often as possible. The lake view was beautiful!! The pizza was the best in town. They played great music. Definitely will go back next time we’re in town.

This place was amazing. I was camping nearby with my dog and saw they were a dog friendly restaurant, so I checked them out. From the moment I got there they were very welcoming of my dog and I. My dog even got a chance to play with another on their patio. Got the dirty bird and it was tasty. Great service, great food, great ambiance. Will be back again.

Good was pretty great! Service was slow but they were slammed so I give them a pass. Our server Bianca was sweet as can be and tried to really be in top of it, atmosphere was TOP NOTCH! So tranquil, live music, great view of the lake, clean with no riff raff, plenty of fun activities for kids! Such a great place!

Absolutely loved the service (very attentive), food was wonderful (planning on trying everything on the menu and visiting often), view/atmosphere (lovely, peaceful, fun), clean playground for kids, sand volleyball, fenced in (very kid friendly) and we will definitely visit more often!!
