Authentic German food by authentic Germans. Everything tasted great. Nice selection of German beers. Immersive atmosphere, from the decor to the German radio music. Friendly staff. I recommend trying their German potato salad. It’s like a vinegary mashed potato twist on regular potato salad, with a dash of chives. The liver dumping soup is quite unique. The broth is salty and savory, and it doesn’t have an overpowering liver taste. You can’t go wrong with the Mixed Sausage Plate or the Bavarian Plate; pairs well sauerkraut as one of the two sides. Their desserts are absolutely stellar. The cheesecake is light and fluffy. The plumb slice with butter crumbles is a perfect balance of bright, fresh plum cutting through the rich taste of butter.

Hidden gem in Fort Myer, authentic German restaurant. Absolutely in shock how much this restaurant reminded me of my grandmother‘s cooking. the schnitzel sauerkraut and brussels sprouts smell and tasted like it came right out of my grandma’s kitchen fresh off the stove and oven.

If you enjoy authentic German food and support, small businesses and family owned businesses. This is a place you need to visit.

Thank you to the restaurant owners for my trip down memory Lane through food.

Heidi’s is a local German restaurant with great food and service. Everything is prepared with love (or it feels that way). The servers are welcoming and helpful. Large.portioms and great food; you will likely leave full.

They only accept reservations for parties of six or more and they fill early (please leave a 2-too for me and my honey though !)

My two complaints are it’s noisy; it’s hard to have a conversation, and the paper napkins are skimpy. Nothing that will keep me away.

Heidi’s German Restaurant is one of those residents you read about that is a “hidden gem” of a town. The service and staff and warm and friendly, the food is always awesome, and in my opinion some of the best German food around. Heidi’s simply does not miss with any of Heidi’s husbands’ recipes. Their desserts are hands down, the best available in town. Black Forrest cake, apple strudel, plumb cake are such a special treat, delicious and like everything else, made from scratch and with love. As a resident of fort myers, if you never been, indulge yourself. You will not be disappointed!

If you’re visiting in town and looking for a restaurant that will not disappoint, this is the place for you!

We had jaeger snitzel and a beef special with German potato salad and red cabbage. The jaeger snitzel was one of the best I have ever had. For desert the apfel struedel was so tasty- nice spice and not too sweet. We split the beef dish so this is just half of it.

My family and I visited Heidi’s German Restaurant while we were on vacation in Fort Myers, and we had such a great experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The interior is adorable with traditional German decor that really adds to the charm and makes it feel authentic.

Our server was friendly, attentive, and very helpful with food recommendations. It was clear she knew the menu well and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our meal. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and perfectly prepared. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the service.

We had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend anyone in the Fort Myers area to check out Heidi’s. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

What can I say about this place to do it justice? First off, when you call a German restaurant and the person who answers the phone has a German accent… you know it’s going to be an authentic experience!!

Heidi, the owner of the restaurant, greeted us at the door and was also our server. The place is small, but cozy and the staff friendly. We started off with waters and a pretzel. The pretzel was perfect, slightly salted, and came with a side of warm beer cheese.

For dinner I wanted the Sauerbraten meal, but Heidi talked me out of it! Instead, she suggested I get the Bavarian Plate, as it has the Sauerbraten plus pork and a nuernberger bratwurst-which is their homemade brat made using a traditional nuernberg recipe. I chose spaetzel and red cabbage as my sides. I started with the Liver dumpling soup. It was the most flavorful soup I’ve ever tasted, the broth was a deep rich beef base and the dumpling was delicious, a perfect size.

There were 4 of us that ordered, and Heidi made sure that we got what we wanted, with some really good suggestions sprinkled in.

The food came out within 15 minutes of ordering, and to be fair, I would have easily waited an hour for how good it was! I don’t think any of us spoke much until we were done eating it was that yummy.

There were some homemade desserts and I really wanted the apple streudel but I was just too full! We plan on returning soon to get the pork shank. The pork shank you have to order 3 days in advance- can’t wait! Until then, Prost!

Blown away! We are only in town for a few days and we always like to look up good spots to eat that aren’t basic chair restaurants. We stopped in Heidi’s and immediately loved the vibe. It was so comfortable and cozy in size and kept incredibly clean. Everyone was so kind and the food was delicious and tasted so fresh and truly homemade. Comfort food for sure. Everything we tried was incredible, I wish I had a photo of the black forest cake and apple strudel, which was being eaten by my family before I could even snap a picture. Wish we were local so we could enjoy more often, definitely worth stopping in to enjoy
