Delicious breakfast with excellent service throughout the meal. Fried green tomato’s, crab cakes, poached eggs, hollandaise, avocado, and fruit. Packed with flavor and all the right textures. Only slight issue was our table felt a little cramped for a party of two, but it was an enjoyable experience overall.

We started our visit with a lovely table on the front porch, and from there the experience only got better. Kim took such great care of us, offering kind service and thoughtful suggestions that made our meal even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely outstanding! I ordered the power salad with salmon, shrimp, and a crab cake—it was, without question, the best salad I’ve ever had in my life. We wrapped up our time exploring the gift shop, which was the perfect, fun ending to an already wonderful visit. I can’t wait to go back!

Nice place for lunch. Food was very good and fresh. Service was very accommodating for our walk up party of 6.

Nice cozy decor, the place is larger than it appears on the outside. Staff is friendly and helpful. Lunch menu had good variety of specials, sandwhiches, salads, and a whole section on shrimp and grits. All the food was very good. A few people got salads and colors were vibrant and fresh and the fruit was large and good. “The Dirty” shrimp and grits (pictured) was very good, a little spicy but added to the flavor.

Wow, the food was wonderful!
We tried the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, which was fabulous. Then one of us got the pineapple special which was amazing! Chicken wrap was delicious with homemade ranch! The salad trio was wow. Definitely will be back and definitely recommend!

The Cottage Cafe is a quaint, small restaurant in the heart of Old Town Bluffton. We were greeted on the porch and quickly seated indoors. The porch is lovely, but was it was cool on the morning we were there. Inside you find a very homey, warm and clean environment. Our server was very attentive and answered any questions we had. I had the Challah French Toast with Apples and Pecans and my husband had the Cottage Corned Beef Hash. Both were divine, perfectly cooked, served in a timely manner and hot. We enjoyed our meal and the pleasant atmosphere at this restaurant and when in the area again, it will be on our list of must do’s. Bluffton is full of non-franchise restaurants and this is one of the very best!

There are many awards hanging on the wall and for good reason. This place served some delicious eats. The staff are great and we were only in town for a few days and we went here twice! The perfect breakfast/brunch place in town. And it seems like they have no shortage of covers everyday.

This morning we went to The Cottage in Bluffton for breakfast, and I will never forget the kindness we experienced there. From the moment we arrived, our waitress Kim went above and beyond—helping us get my 88-year-old grandparents out of the car, making room for walkers, a cane, and our stroller. She treated my grandparents with such gentleness, even asking my grandma what kind of tea she was in the mood for—citrus, fruity, or herbal. She ended up with a raspberry lemon tea that made her light up with joy.

The food was delicious, beautifully prepared, and everything felt perfect… until my grandma suddenly lost consciousness at the table. In an instant, the people around us—retired nurses sitting nearby—rushed to her side, coaching us through what information the paramedics would need and preparing to begin compressions when she lost her pulse. By God’s grace, she came back to us and slowly regained responsiveness.

In the middle of all of this, Kim and the staff never missed a beat. She offered to hold my newborn so I could stay with my grandma, moved my car so the ambulance could get in, and management comped both our meal and the nurses’ meal without hesitation. They stayed close, offering comfort, hugs, and reassurance that we didn’t need to think about anything except my grandma’s wellbeing.

It’s not often you see humanity so clearly on display—strangers stepping in to save a life, staff showing extraordinary compassion, and a community wrapping around us in a terrifying moment. We are forever grateful to The Cottage and to Kim for their care, and to the nurses who happened to be in the right place at the right time. Bluffton showed its true heart today. ❤️

This was our second time here, and the food wasn’t as good as it was 3 years ago. Just mediocre, but at least it was fresh and beautiful presentation, just lacked flavor. The fried green tomato caprese looked amazing, but the tomatoes themselves were bland. Service was upbeat and friendly, and the atmosphere is always inviting.

The chef here is superb. We came from Hilton Head to try the Sunday-only brunch and we were blown away! The Gumbo is a true Louisiana rue, the shrimp and grits are AMAZING and the poached eggs are perfect. The dessert case will make you salivate as well. Do yourself a favor and DON’T MISS THIS. We sat inside a back room and it was VERY cold in December but the food made up for it.
