This was our second time dining at The Cottage and was well worth it. Although it would have been nice to dine on one of the outside decks like we did last time, our inside table overlooking Mirror Lake was perfectly fine and by dining inside, we were able to get seated right away. The Cottage has a cool casual vibe with a nice bar area. The wait staff was hustling given that it was a busy Saturday night. Our food included the market soup which was a cauliflower cheddar soup, chili, a spinach salad, and a reuben. Everything was delicious! It’s worth a visit to The Cottage.

As any realtor would tell you location location location. We had a lovely lunch here. The views are certainly worth it. It was a crisp cool day (8c/46f), but…, The patio was open and some hearty customers sat outside. They also have converted enclosed gondolas to sit outside in! Very neat idea. We chose the quaint dining room. Lots of long-ago signs for the two past Winter Olympics that were held in Lake Placid. And the views of Mirror Lake were beautiful. The lake was still frozen over, but the sun was promising warmth and hints of Spring to come.

A relaxing place with a beautiful view of the lake , friendly staff, and awesome food. Get the chicken pesto sandwich. I don’t even like pesto and love this sandwich!

Small place right on Mirror Lake (literally) in Lake Placid. Decent bar size for the space and enough room for some tables, but expect a wait if it is a busy day. We came in winter and this place reminded me of a ski lodge on the edge of a mountain. Fun ski and snowboard decor with wood beams everywhere. Great seasonal beers and local craft, but if you are a bloody Mary fan look no further. The bloody Mary here is incredible, tons of horseradish (my favorite) and plenty of fixings on top. It is almost a meal in itself! Food menu is great with plenty of options, some of the sandwiches will leave your mouth watering. While waiting for your food check out the front windows which overlook mirror lake. Since we were here in winter we could watch some people playing hockey out on the ice (very cool). Outdoor area was even open (with two cable cars you can eat in). Food was great, the Lisa sandwich was phenomenal and the chili was perfect for a cold day. Must stop if you are in the area!

This was my first time visiting The Cottage. It will not be my last. We enjoyed the chicken tacos and the shrimp tacos. But for me, the best part was the cocktails. The bartender was willing to make something for me with my suggestions of what I like. I also like a pretty drink. She definitely came through.

This is a very cute smaller establishment. The location is picturesque and right on Mirror Lake. The bartender was friendly and personable but all by herself tending bar which made the service slow. Would’ve been a better experience if the place was more staffed and we didn’t have to wait so long on between ordering everything. Two bartenders would be appropriate for this busy tourist spot. We popped in for lunch and some afternoon cocktails. The Spinach & Artichoke Dip was good and The Lisa’s Favorite sandwich was pretty good. The atmosphere was nice as it overlooks the lake. On street parking available.

We had an exceptionally good experience. Our family of six stopped by at about 5:45 on a beautiful, sunny day — after about two days of rain — for dinner. No wait. Got seated outside at the perfect table right by the water. Our waiter was friendly and prompt. The food was thoughtful, fresh, and well portioned. Some great beers on tap. And some great virgin drinks for the four teenagers. Everyone had a super time.

Nice view and good service but the food was subpar. The flatbread pizza was pretty bland and just not worth $19. The chef chosen cured meats on top included pepperoni. The beef sandwich was good but the side of kettle chips is a little cheap for a sandwich that costs that much.

They have good clam chowder when it’s offered and the portions of their dishes are definitely adequate. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the view sitting outside.
