A fun and small neighborhood diner where most of the customers were addressed by name.
With a 4.9 rating, we had to check out their burgers.
No off-street parking, but we walked from a nearby park.
We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the buzz in the dining area and the kitchen. Very friendly counter service.
We ordered the Hangover Burger with fries and the Classic Burger with onion rings. The burgers and sides were fabulous and filling.
The brunch menu looks fabulous and makes me wish I lived within a block or two of this popular place.
Expect a wait unless you arrive early, but I’d highly recommend a visit to this colorful local gem.
There is one small table out front and takeout pick-ups were non-stop during our visit.

What a cool place! It was a completely serendipitous find on a drive to Maine. We needed a quick place to pick up some food for lunch and found that through Google. We ordered to go but the place was so cute we decided to sit at the counter. We got a bitty burger with curry ketchup and a chicken sandwich. Both had the option of half salad half fries which was awesome. The sandwiches were delicious and the only disappointment was they’re closed on Mondays and we can’t go back on our return through Newburyport.

We all ordered burgers and they were delicious! Plus, perfect fries and onion rings. The staff couldn’t be nicer and the atmosphere/decor is diner-classic meets … cormorant. The milkshakes look delicious but we didn’t have room to order those too.

What a wonderful place!! Had a meeting nearby, and found this gem on Google when we searched “lunch nearby” — and what a find it was!! The smash burgers were DELICIOUS!! Service 5++ stars — clean restaurant, easy parking — but back to the food..: the french fries, onion rings… all of it… yum, yum!! Not just smash burgers on the menu — Healthy options too ❤️

This place is great!! Friendly staff great milkshakes got the pork belly smash burger! And it was outstanding!! I did ask for no jalapeños, got them anyway. ♂️ the burger was outstanding!! Fries are really good too! I will definitely be back!! $32 for a burger and milkshake is a high price…..it’s Newburyport.

The Cormorant is such a CUTE spot! My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner before heading to the beach and the burgers were out of this world. It felt very homey in there and our server was very nice. Definitely a hole in the wall gem. If you get the chance to visit I highly recommend. They also have milkshakes (we didn’t try them) but they looked fantastic.

Absolutely nothing but positive things to say! After a few years, we FINALLY made it to The Cormorant back in November and have been back 5 times (or more?) since then! We have mostly done takeout, but just ate there at the restaurant, and the staff was exceptional. Beyond accommodating, attentive, and kind. Even though it’s taken us a while to go, it’s quickly become one of our favorites!

First time in – cozy little spot with cool decor. Staff were very friendly! Burger was DEE-licious!!! Onion rings were awesome! Too full for dessert, but the pie looked terrific. Will definitely be back!

Update: we went here again and I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich and it was delicious!! I had to take one of the chicken pieces off to eat the sandwich, but that made for great leftovers the next day!
My husband had the Cuban sandwich and it was also delicious. We got some cookies to go and they were a great nighttime dessert. Definitely recommend!
Original review: Went here for lunch and the place is so adorable! Love the decor and the colors. The food was excellent. I had a classic burger with cheese and it was the perfect amount of meat. Not overstuffed. My husband had the schnitzel sandwich and that was also great. The house made picked peppers were delightful! Very friendly staff. Definitely a must visit! If I lived in town I would come here all the time!
