I’m absolutely obsessed with The Coral Wig — a true hidden gem nestled in the heart of Mt. Vernon, Baltimore. From the moment you step inside, the mood lighting sets the perfect tone. The atmosphere is dark, intimate, and effortlessly classy, evoking the charm of a 1920s speakeasy. The fringe lights, curved booths, stainless windows, and low ceilings create a cozy, timeless ambiance that feels like a step back into the flapper era.
The cocktails are as stunning as they are delicious — each one decorated to perfection. Think rum-based drinks served in playful tiki glasses, complete with creative garnishes and thoughtful presentation.
Whether you’re planning a romantic date night or an evening out with friends, The Coral Wig is an unforgettable spot that combines style, craftsmanship, and atmosphere flawlessly. Highly recommend!

Drinks were good, the ambience was very romantic
I wish the music was slightly quieter, the bar was empty when we entered but it was still hard to hear each other well
We came around 7:30pm on a Thursday and only a few people were there but by 9:30 it was bumpin, no more seats available

I absolutely loved this quirky cocktail bar. The space is small and intimate—tiny tables, low lighting from dim lamps and table-top candles. The range of cocktails is impressive, and every one of them is impeccably made. The music choice is eclectic, and they crank it up when the bar is busy so don’t expect to linger over conversations (at least, not on a Friday night—Thursday night was calmer!) but you’ll have some really unique and tasty drinks. Big fan of the Venus Sunray in particular.

Absolutely loved my experience at The Coral Wig Bar in Baltimore—a must-visit spot! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, perfect for a fun night out. I had the pleasure of trying their Cane’s Old Fashioned, Estate Martini, and Pray for Rain cocktails, and each one was expertly crafted and full of unique flavors. The bartender is clearly passionate about the craft, paying attention to every detail to make each drink an experience on its own. Whether you’re a cocktail enthusiast or just looking for a fantastic place to unwind, The Coral Wig Bar is a gem you won’t want to miss. Highly recommended!

The Coral Wig has been on my list of places to visit for a long time, based on what I’ve been hearing from the people. That being said, I was still pleasantly surprised with the quality of the drinks as well as the great ambiance. If you like cocktails, this is a must-visit! I’ve tried Pray for Rain and Mani Man and loved both my drinks. Pray for Rain was especially amazing. The place is small and gets crowded. Also, a single bartender was serving the whole place until later in the night, which led to long wait times and made us feel bad for the person. So, I recommend that management avoid such situations in the future. Nevertheless, I did enjoy my experience at this spot and will be back to try more drinks!

Amazing drinks and bar tenders. We tried 6 of their cocktails and they were absolutely amazing. Bursting with flavors and right amount of liquor. Each drink is well crafted and the favors are well balanced. We are so glad we came! We got Mango Boy, Banana Hammock, Manila Daiquiri,Flamboyan, Painkiller and my personal Fave The officers Club. Only thing is its very dark but it wasn’t a big deal. Great music from the 80’s!

Me and my friends went here after going to blooms next door and we loved it! The ambience and vibe of this cocktail bar/speakeasy is so warm, chill and low key, it’s not that much space but we got lucky as a table was available when we got there. The drinks we had were the coral wig sour and mango boy which were both delicious. We will definitely be back again in the future

Fabulous in ambiance, service, and quality! The drinks were exceptional– tiki bar? more like a Tiki BAR! The staff was working hard to meet high demand, but drinks were still flying off the counter and the lively atmosphere and quality made it well-worth the wait. It’s a very small, intimate space with limited seating indoors and even less outdoors.
Due to the crowd and small space, it was VERY loud. It’s also quite dimly lit, so a little hard to read the menus or see your group. We held the menus under the table with our cellphone lights so we wouldn’t disturb our neighbors too much.

A deep, dark and fun speakeasy experience in Mt Vernon! We were lucky to arrive before the “big” crowd and snag the entire banquet in the back (we were about 15 people). The vibe is cool/tiki and the drinks are all vaguely tropical. The staff are hardworking and still friendly. The drinks seem to all be crowd-pleasers tho perhaps they could be stronger. Conversation was easy since the music did not overpower. I enjoyed a few different drinks including the Banana Hammock, Pink Snapper, and Flamboyán. I hope to make it back to Coral Wig again soon.
