Intimate eatery focusing on traditional steaks & seafood, plus other entrees with a Creole touch.

I am sure the many reviews and rating certainly speak for themselves. We had the honor and luck of being able to squeeze into this restaurant on a whim after a small getaway in Hiawassee. From start to finish this was by far one of the best establishments I have ever been too. I will say first impressions are important but having Mark as our server was a privilege. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and was the perfect waiter. I hope we get the chance to come back again and see Mark. Now to the important part the food. You can tell that this food is made with passion and love. The food came out so fast and you can tell the ingredients were tastefully chosen and paired with an excellent culinary staff. The flavor was abundant and paired so well. This place is deserved of every award and ranking. I hope I get to come back at some point. Props to the chef and the entire team.

Oh my goodness! This restaurant is fabulous. Our server, Nick, was so sweet and soft spoken. (ask for him when you go) The entire staff made us feel so special for our anniversary. A beautiful card and rose petals on the table. It was the perfect thing for our day celebrating our marriage. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Top notch service and impeccable attention to detail. I’m so happy we found this hidden gem during our trip east. If we ever get back this way, we will be visiting again. Thank you all for a wonderful dinner and evening.
10/10 highly recommend

Had a little higher of an expectation based on the reviews. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special. We had a sunburst salad that was pretty good but the mains (fruits de Mer and lamb chops) were pretty mediocre. We also tried the creme brulee and it came in a huge bowl and was cold(not how creme brulee should be served). We expected a little more but it was all decent.

Everything at The Copper Door was most excellent! My significant other submitted my food allergies/sensitivities to the establishment when he made reservations. I typically reach out myself a good week+ ahead, but was so busy with work & life it got away from me. They reached out the day of our reservation, and went over the details of the dinner the chef on duty created for me – lamb chops with cherry demi-glaze, sweet carrot puree, and steamed asparagus. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked, and I appreciated chef taking creative liberty for my meal! My fella ordered surf & turf with pasta and mashed potatoes, and said everything was excellent! We stayed about 40 minutes away in Blairsville, GA, and our experience was well worth the drive! We highly recommend The Copper Door!

My family and I went to The Copper Door for my birthday, and everything was amazing! From the moment we were seated, I felt special, they even had a birthday card waiting for me, which I really appreciated. The food was fantastic, especially the ribeye steak, it was phenomenal! Definitely worth the travel and the price.
Nick, our server, was amazing and did a great job taking care of us. We’ll absolutely be coming back for more special occasions. Highly recommend!

Chilean sea bass with saffron risotto was delicious but, risotto was just a bit under seasoned and just a bit al dente.
Sea bass was 30 seconds from being over cooked but delicious flavor.
Ribeye was excellently cooked at medium rare and good seasoning. I didn’t care too much for the mashed potatoes.
Ambience and atmosphere was extremely nice.
Appetizers were extremely delicious crab cakes and pork belly.
Would highly recommend.
Grilled Romain Caesar salad was delicious as well.
Server was on top of his game always checking to see if we needed anything else. Excellent.
One recommendation would be when the waiter/ waitress describes the specialties is to give a price with the specialties so the customer does not have to ask what the cost is.
Some people are there for a once in a lifetime dinner for anniversaries and may have a budget and would like to know.
Copper door also has a reward program and special offers which is extremely useful.
Highly recommended!

While it was a great atmosphere and we had really good service, the food was ok. Now this is our opinion based on the restaurants we have eaten at for higher end food and service. We had the crab cakes and bone marrow for appetizers and honestly that was probably the best thing all meal. Then we had the scallops which were ok not great but also not horrible and the pan seared duck breast again, it was ok. The desert was bananas foster that was made table side, the flavor was great but the bananas were not caramelized and still very soft. Again, for the area it seems to be the best option for upscale dinning, but in our experience it was just ok, questionable for the price paid. Still a very good experience overall.

We were given a birthday dinner gift for celebrating our 72nd birthday. We arrived very early and happened to meet Chef Jeremiah in the parking lot. After talking with him he suggested we walk around town until time for opening. When we arrived back and came inside we were in awe of our surroundings!! Then much to our surprise we were greeted by Host and hostesses Tommy, Lauren (who also shared she is a twin)& Arillis. Tommy said “you must be Val and Verna that Chef Jeremiah spoke about! We look forward to giving you a memorable experience here at the Copper Door! Please be seated or look around while we prepare for your dining experience!” Arillis escorted us to our table in the original dining room. On the way we passed through Ruby’s Room. She explained that all the paintings were done by owner Chef Dennis’s mother! After being seated Arillis introduced us the Amy our Server. She congratulated us on our birthday and took our drink orders. While she was doing that Chef Jeremiah came to the table and greeted us like old friends! Amy came back with our drinks and started helping us understand the fine dining we were soon to enjoy. We had shrimp sautéed in garlic sauce for our appetizers! The “pop overs” dinner bread with creole butter were delicious! Then Amy went over our choices for soup and salad. It was noted that I’m allergic to onions and she took extreme care in describing the preparation of foods. My sister chose Lobster Bisque soup and I chose Iceberg Wedge Salad. Those along with our appetizers was enough to fill us up! Amy then explained the different entrees to us. She was such a wealth of knowledge about the preparation and how different ingredients brought out the flavors of food. I chose the 16oz ribeye medium well with baked potato. It melted in my mouth! Amy substituted the vegetable of the day (caramelized carrots with onions and brown sugar) with asparagus spears. My sister chose Atlantic Salmon (grilled to perfection!) vegetable of the day and baked potatoes. Amy checked on us quite often so attentive and kind! We asked how long she had been here and she said 12 years. She definitely loves being here and was such an integral part of our beautiful experience! We told her we were getting full. She cautioned us to save room for dessert! When we let her know we were ready for dessert she promptly removed our plates assuring us the leftovers would be carefully boxed and be waiting to go home with us. She brought the dessert menu and we immediately settled on Bananas Foster. Chef Jeremiah came back to speak with us and said he knew our choice of dessert was truly a fun and delicious choice! I took so many pictures and a couple videos. After dinner Chef Jeremiah had promised we could have a picture with him. We met at the original entryway. Although we enjoyed the others we fell completely in love with Amy and Chef Jeremiah. Thank you for letting me share our experience! As we told them “we’ve never had such a privilege to dine in such an upscale restaurant and we felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman!”
