One of the best talking points of this place is how easy it is to park and walk to the restaurant. A big plus is that they validate your parking with the connected parking deck. Good job on making it easy for people to come to you.

Now on to the food. This is been on my list for many years and we finally got to go.

Honestly, looking at the big picture and comparing it to the prices, the food was just pretty good for the most part. Definitely not ” blow your mind” amazing! And definitely not worth the prices in my honest opinion.

The service was really good as expected

The atmosphere of the restaurant was really cool

The star of the show was the fried potato patties with the beef stuffing. Although this is an expensive appetizer, I would definitely pay for this again. Everything else, not really justifies the cost but to each their own. Obviously, you definitely pay a premium eating at this restaurant in downtown Atlanta versus somewhere else.

All in all, this is a definitely good restaurant to try and see for yourself.

Obviously, the theme of this restaurant is a really cool part and everyone can have a different experience there depending on when they go and for what country.

My bf and I try to come at once a quarter to try the new menus. Right now they have Jamaican through 4/1 (1 month longer than usual) which our waitress said is partially due to how popular the menu is. I know she’s supposed to hype but the place was PACKED on a WEDNESDAY and this was perhaps the best experience I’ve had in all my years eating here. The coconut milk marinated rice and peas, jerk chicken, gift of the moons pork belly, escovitch, and island Shepard skillet were all wonderfully seasoned and packed full of flavor. The service was fast and attentive, the decor is always a hoot to observe, and I’ll be back before 4/1 to try the curry goat and oxtail soup.

The atmosphere is the star of the show for your experience at The Consulate and the food is a close second. The beverage selection has a bit to be desired. According to our lovely server there is a new beverage director being hired, but in the meantime I would manage your expectations that they likely won’t have your preferred drink.

Moving on, the rotating food menu and country orientation is very fun. The food was delicious despite then having an “issue” in the kitchen which caused the food to come out quite slowly. If we had been able to enjoy a cocktail it may not have felt like such a long delay for the food. When it arrived it was quite tasty.

The ambience is wonderful and the wait staff was slightly above average but pretty good for being so young.

The restaurant is quite small and intimate which is lovely. It has a lounge area to wait in for your table.

My husband and I went to The Consulate for our 10 year anniversary and I will tell you that we had such an incredible experience. JB was our server and he was PHENOMENAL!! He patiently answered our numerous questions, provided insight on his top suggestions and made sure that we had an enjoyable experience from the minute he greeted us until we left. The food was spectacular! I got the lamb (the pharaoh’s share) and my husband got the arroz con mariscos. They were both delicious but JB was right, the lamb is top notch. I mean we were talking about how good it was the next day, so that’s how you know lol. We will definitely be back!! Thank you for making our anniversary extra special!

Ornate, cozy vibe with amazing menu, food and variety of worldly cuisine. Great cocktails! There is a new world location for the cuisine choice for 90 days I believe, we were able to enjoy the regular favorites like “Shepherd’s Pie” and “Barbeque Beef” as well as Jamaican. It’s picturesque and delicious!

This is a fine dining experience that a lot of people in Atlanta don’t know about. Every quarter the menu changes based off a new country. The country is decided on “spin night,” which is the first Friday of every quarter. They give out raffle tickets and raffle off bottles of wine and the chance to spin the globe!

I’ve been here for several different countries, including Morocco, China, South Korea, Egypt, and most recently the Galápagos Islands. The chef is incredibly talented. She isn’t just making dishes from that country. She is putting her own spin on them. I’ve never had a bad meal. The cocktails also go with the theme and are delicious. In addition to the country-inspired dishes, they also keep their most popular dishes from countries before on “the resident menu.” So if you had something that really blew your mind, there’s a chance that it’ll still be there the next time!

Just a reminder that 18% gratuity is included in the bill, but we always tip a little bit extra because the service is top tier.

Cindi was the bomb. So professional, so kind, and an absolute pleasure to have as a server. Ask for Cindi!!!
Many places have good food and good vibes. But when the service is great, it makes the overall experience so much more unforgettable. Loved my time here and will be back (asking for Cindi) the next time I’m in the city.

I dined in on a weekday and had a lovely date night before attending my very first concert. Daniel was our server, he made great recommendations and coursed everything smoothly. I also appreciate him double checking the items we ordered due to my allergies. I adore the concept of the restaurant it is refreshing, especially since the menu changes every few months. I look forward to having another Jamaican inspired old fashioned before a new cuisine hits the menu… I never had jerk bitters in a drink before, but wow I’m fan!

I was so close to skipping out on dessert, but it was the highlight of my meal. I can’t remember the exact name but my goodness 10/10.
Thank you!!

All around exceptional experience. From server recommendations to dishes from around the world. I wanted them all, but settled on just two entrees to share (with myself!) and take leftovers to the hotel. Ivory Coast vegetarian dish is 90% rice and 100% flavor. The three mushroom Jamaican dish with jerk chicken stole the show. 10/10. WOW.

Even if you don’t care for your dish, we should all appreciate any restaurant serving us cuisine from around the world. Try it all!

Walking in, The Consulate presents itself as a quaint hole in the wall. Upon entry, it was like stepping into a whole different world. The decor and ambiance are stunning and cozy, and the dishes were all absolutely phenomenal. Will definitely be back to try the new menu every 90 days. Everything was presented in a gorgeous manner, and sinking into the complex flavors with every bite was truly an experience. The bar is stocked with exotic options and hometown favorites, and the bartender has a devilishly heavy hand. JB was fantastic and guided us through the Galapagos Islands proficiently, despite the menu only having been out for a week. We will be returning for years to come. Truly and sincerely, hats off to the chef. You are an inspiration and an culinary aficionado.
