I came here for lunch after spending most of the morning on the beach this weekend. I had a 20-minute wait time for a table since it was pouring raining, and the staff had to finish setting up and drying the patio. Once I was seated, I was greeted very warmly by my server, Grace. She took my order, but I had a long wait time to get my food, which was understandable since the unexpected down pour of rain caused delays. I ordered a Bloody Mary, which kind of tasted watered down, but overall, it was decent. The bacon wrapped scallops and the shrimp tacos tasted really good and had a great flavor, but it seemed like small portions were given, especially for the prices. They have a decent limited menu, and the prices do seem a tad high, in my opinion, but you get what you pay for. I was seated in the patio area, so I didn’t get to see the inside of the restaurant. In spite of the rain, it looks like you can have a nice view of the beach area. Overall, even though the service was a tad slow my first time here, which was beyond the restaurants control, I enjoyed the food and I will come here again the next time I am in the area.

The ocean was calling so I set out with a companion to walk the boards and check out the Columns. Easy free parking about a block away. No same day reservations or anytime for two, so when we returned from our walk the place was packed outside. Inside quiet. Bathrooms clean. We were seated outside at one of the last two available tables. I would say even the worst table wasn’t too bad on the porch . Our server Kate was delightful. Her timing perfect. The coconut shrimp appetizer had 8 pieces and could have been a whole meal. My companion enjoyed her tuna tacos and the large crab cake I ate most of was yum. I did remove the top after one bite and fork and knife the rest. Drinks . Price up there but worth the experience.

Nicole our server was AWESOME ON POINT, she had cute earrings. I got the bacon wrapped scallops which I go for every year I feel like they should be adding more than 4. Like 6 would be nice.. the coconut shrimp. Had way more.. very yummy along with a lobster roll. Would have been nice if they had options over than French fries. They should ask if we want butter on the side with our roll and lemon. For the flavor of it all. Got the balcony view. Very lovely you can feel the old hotel vibes when you walk through to the bathroom.. along with the ambiance and plants.. love coming here along with the watermelon mojito on the side. Very Jersey shore atmosphere, simple, view to the ocean if you sit outside, good food, popular any time of the day. Music is loud inside(to be expected), people are dancing and having fun. Waitresses are attentive and fast.

This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in my entire 63 years of life. I was all excited to have the lobster special. It wasn’t even that great the waitress/manager was absolutely atrocious. She was disrespectful and condescending. She kept coming to our table and asking us when we were going to order when we haven’t even gotten our appetizer she was trying to push us out the door there was a 90 minute window which we knew nothing about. We were waiting on a friend to come so we didn’t want to start eating yet and she ran into car troubles so she didn’t come And we were treated so poorly people like her should not be in this business I will never ever go back to this restaurant again and I hope nobody that goes there experiences this kind of harassment just horrible. I wish I had her name but I don’t therefore, she was not left any kind of a tip. She did not deserve it and nobody will go back .

Went for dinner. We were immediately greeted by a note on the table telling us we had to be done in 90 minutes Ordered the specialty drinks which tasted like flavored club soda. Dinner was ok but lacked flavor and presentation. We were able to leave the porch when done with dinner and went into the bar area to hopefully see the Nerds. We were lucky to find a table at the bar but that was short lived because staff came and ousted us and in a rude fashion I might add, (he literally made a nasty face at us). Apparently they remove the tables at a certain time to make room for more people. I guess having a few tables for customers to put drinks on is too costly. Also, at some point they stopped taking credit cards. When we first went into the bar they took our card but when we later went to purchase another drink they said CASH only ♀️. The Nerds were supposed to be on at 9:00 but we left at 10:00 and they were still not there. Overall the experience was disappointing at best. I guess this level of customer service might be acceptable to a younger crowd but if you are 40+ and used to the old Columns you will not be happy.
