This was our first time eat at The Colony. My husband found it when he googled “places to eat”. I had the jasmine pineapple rice with shrimp and a side salad. I tried a cup of the chicken pot pie soup. My husband had the new strip steak. It was very tasty and nicely prepared. We shared an appetizer: coconut shrimp. Everything was delicious. We met the owners. Nice folks. We highly recommend this restaurant. We had a great evening.

The place is cute, old Movie theater.
Food, not so great. I got cheese steak and it was mediocre at best. Cheese was not done, had to send back. Way too thick for cheese fries.
Sweet tea was good.
Also got a Blackberry bourbon splash, it was ok but it definitely could be better.
Lighting was a bite darkish.
Waitress did fine.

The Colony is one of the absolute best places to go in Gallipolis, Ohio! The food is wonderful, the homemade ranch dressing is the best you will ever have! And the owners are so involved! Chris and their son run the bar and Rette is the mastermind behind the ranch dressing and many of the wonderful dishes. You will see her going around all evening checking on customers and making sure everything is going well! Their special events are always a blast and so well orchestrated!

Walked in and first noticed fire alarm had the key still inserted. That’s a not supposed to be.
Entered at 445 and was told 15 minutes.
32 minutes later seated
Nearly 10 minutes before waitress came
Moment we were finally seated they said the kitchen was taking a little while.
Currently 542 and drinks are all despite being promised a side salad
Food arrived at 552 side salad forgotten
Mentioned and then another waitress came and asked about the salad and was given after the meal was mostly done.
Her water was empty and no refills were offered
Apparently it was some performance so they opened doors loading musical equipment making the place chilly.

We went during December where a light show goes on so it is expected to have a wait (so we went at 4:45) but they were holding tables for a reservation that was late and only 7 tables were occupied. It’s fine to tell people reservations only but to be off by more than 2x is too much.
I think the concept is good but the menu is more than they can handle. They need simple food that can be served quickly as this isn’t fine dining so this middle ground doesn’t work for them.
Also the owners seem to snap back at people online so bring it on, that’s why I timestamped everything as these are facts not opinions . I was the family with the two perfect daughters.

Food was great, and really cool setting and atmosphere. They just had 1 server which is ok, but took 40 minutes to get our drinks and over an hour for our food to come after we ordered it. It was under 50% capacity at the time as well. If service was fixed, would be 5 stars.

This was our first visit. We went on a Friday night to enjoy some karaoke. I hope they keep it going, I enjoyed it very much and will try to get more Friday evenings off just to come again. The drinks were great, one of the best bloody mary’s I’ve had for sure. We had the nachos for an appetizer and they were a 10 outta 10. We loved the atmosphere and the decor. I’ll define a repeat customer. Good job!

They were out of everything !! What we COULD order was wrong . We had to ask 3 times for ranch and a salad (lettuce) that I ordered. We were charged a cover charge without being aware of the charge til we got the bill . Definitely not a place we will be visiting again. We got a response from the colony I’m assuming it was the owner . We didn’t notice the signs and listening to 30’seconds of a song is definitely not listening to the band . We were seated and had drinks when we were told you were out of pretty much every item we wanted so we had to order what we could . A salad is definitely not a bowl of lettuce with a cube or tomato and a handful of red onion . I’m sure your place is amazing to some people it definitely was not for us .

This is a restaurant/bar built in an d movie theater. The atmosphere is fantastic and the wait staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is pretty good, not outstanding, but good. If you get the chance, stop in, eat, relax and enjoy.

Food was very good and service was great! We had specials on a Thursday. Loved the homemade style food. Lots of choices of beers and cocktails as well as mocktails. Fun atmosphere!
