What a fantastically scrumptious burger. I’ve been to over 10 restaurants in and around the DMV area looking for the tastiest burger, and I think I’ve found my favorite place. The meat was fresh and flavorful, it was cooked with care and to medium perfection, and the toppings and cheese were delish.
My wife ordered the grilled shrimp and she loved it.
The service was grand, the setting is small but with a family owned cozy vibe, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food. I love this place.

This was my first experience at any of the Ray’s establishments and we enjoyed ourselves. Steaks and burgers were excellent. Side dishes were so-so. Vegetables were poor. Wines are average but cocktails are decent. Prices are very reasonable. The space is pretty standard for a typical American/steakhouse restaurant. Service is friendly, prompt, and helpful. Nice when you’re in the mood for a properly handled hunk of meat at a reasonable price with no frills.

Overall a very nice experience with great food. Ate at the bar due to not feeling our attire met the dining room decor. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Assisted my girlfriend in selecting a beer that suited her tastes offering multiple samples. Steak was extremely good as were the side dishes. The service coupled with a great meal will bring me back if ever in the area again.

I recommend their hanger steak, the quality is better than their NY stripe or sirloin in my opinion. They occasionally serve prime rib but its not on the menu. So you should ask.
Wine selection is average but I found what I liked. Service is above average as well.
Could use some wall paint in the booth seats to enhance the mood, but not bad.
Overall speaking they do well and have found a balanced price, I go back once in a while.

My husband and I went to Rays this weekend for dinner with friends and were very happy. Their steaks can compete with just about any high end steakhouse in the DC area. The biggest hit for us were the sides- the fries and the Mac and Cheese were amazing! We can’t wait to come back and try the grill menu! We live close by so we are thrilled to have a great restaurant in the neighborhood.

I’ve dined here several times, always in the bistro section. The steaks are terrific, and the burgers are just as good. The prices are moderate, but for the quality you get, it’s an amazing bargain.
The staff are knowledgable and helpful in making intelligent suggestions, especially the bartenders. I wouldn’t feel the slightest hesitation in following their advice on entrees OR cocktails.

Honestly I was very disappointed with the service at this restaurant. We called in to reserve but was told there’s no reservations but come in to wait 30min-1h for a table while others with RESERVATIONS were being seated. Once we were seated, and ordered our food that took almost 30min to cook, our waiter #186 DANIEL did not check on us at all he simply just put the food down without saying anything and ignored us and left us for the next hour. We had to ask someone else to get our bill even he passed us a 20x and didn’t look at us. The new York steak was really good, but their burger is extremely dry I almost choked. The service has to be good to make the experience good. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Our favorite restaurant!!!! has so many celebrations here and hanger steak is awesome! juicy inside and crispy outside! affordable and classy! everything is just great, the sides, the service. It’s probably a little too late to leave a review now since it’s closed now. I’m so shocked when I found that out and it’s just hard to believe such a good restaurant would also be closed. I just don’t want to believe it and now I’ve less reasons to come down to silver spring…

Sold place. Nice that the steaks come with mash and cream spinach. My NY strip was bit overcooked but friend and wife’s steak came out great.
So still a solid 4 star. One thing I did wish is if the wait staff reminded me of the different finishes they have on steaks. I wanted to get the peppercorn rub on but forgot.
