Classic stop-in spot if you’re walking through town. Milkshake hit the spot – rich and smooth without being over-the-top sweet. The chocolate itself? Pretty average, especially if you’re coming in with high expectations. It’s a candy case you’ve seen a dozen times, but still fun to browse and grab a few treats for the road. Good energy inside, staff was nice, and the whole space feels like a working kitchen — love seeing the equipment and process.

Definitely worth a few minutes if you’re already in town — and especially if you’re traveling with kids or sweet tooths.

What a great place to stop by to satisfy ones sweet tooth. The ice creams were creamy and refreshing, but not too soft to the point of melting in your hand perfect for a warm day.
The dipped waffle cones were also top notch.
If you’re ever walking the strip of central Bryson and crave something sweet this is the place to go!

Gem of a place that makes you want to explore all the shelves and nooks for delightful surprises. The decor, the treats, the colors, the textures, etc all offer that magical old world quality that boosts your mood. In the end I just got the chocolate milkshake, which hit the spot on a hot summer day.

Sweet Stop Worth Every Scoop – The Chocolate Shop in Bryson City

Tucked into the charm of Bryson City is The Chocolate Shop—a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth or a soft spot for small-town goodness. The ice cream here is top-notch: rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Whether you go classic or try something new, each scoop feels like a little reward after a day in the mountains.

But let’s talk about those waffle cones—crispy, warm, and clearly homemade. They’re the kind of cones that don’t just hold the ice cream—they elevate it.

The staff? Just as sweet. Friendly, patient, and helpful, even when the line starts to grow. They took their time without making anyone wait too long, and it made the whole experience feel thoughtful and easy.

If you’re wandering downtown and need a treat, this place hits the spot. Simple, nostalgic, and full of flavor—just the way a chocolate shop should be.

Most uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had at an ice cream shop. The two guys working the counter kept glancing and giggling at each other, and would stop and look at the floor when I looked their way. Felt like the butt of some inside joke. Super unprofessional and pretty bad service to boot. Won’t be back.

Delicious items at decent prices. The cashew caramel chocolate pretzel stick and the tortle rice krispy treats are delicious.

My favorite place in Bryson City. They sell handmade authentic chocolate. The moonshine cherries were amazing. The chocolate pretzels, bark, buckeyes, truffles, clusters, and their ice cream is amazing. They even have Harry Potter candies from the books.

I scream I went from one extreme to another. Started with a plain waffle cone filled with and excellent Black Cherry Icecream Topped with a Magical Toasted Coconut.. Down side is it’s gonna run you about $8 like any good Icecream.. It’s worth it.

Everything about this place was wonderful! The owner was super friendly and talked to us for quite a while. The chocolates were delicious and the ice cream was AMAZING! I loved the “better than a Twix” chocolate treat and I’m craving them like a crazy woman now! They make their items fresh in the store and we got to watch them spin some caramel apples, which was fun to watch. Everything was delicious… but those “better than Twix bars”… oh my gosh! Soooo heavenly!!

Such an incredible shop that offers an extremely wide variety of chocolates, candies & ice creams. Literally something for everyone. There was a line out the door & only one person working but he was very friendly and our experience was still great. Definitely a must if you are in the area!
