Spectacular food. I mean Spectacular. And I love the small restaurant ambiance of simplicity on Clayton Rd. Authentic and creative food, with modern American style too. If you’re looking for great Chinese food and a great menu too choose from this is the place!!

Believe it or not, this is the best Chinese restaurant I’ve found so far in northeast Concord. One would not suspect this hole in the wall of being so. For some reason, the Chinese restaurants east if the Oakland hills are lackluster (excepting Great Wall) in Lafayette. The Chinese Kitchen is a happy exception. You will be underwhelmed by the decor. And, unfortunately, the tables are a tad sticky, and the service unenthusiastic – I suspect the owner-operators could use a good night’s sleep. HOWEVER, the food is good. Their hot and sour soup is hot and sour, which is saying something, and the best I’ve had in the area. The owner, Wayland, has been at the restaurant for 27 years, when he began working it with his father. This place has been a Chinese restaurant since 1953. The original owners, father and son, retired and died. The restaurant does a good deal of takeout and delivery. Wayland serves as the delivery driver.

stumbled across this place while doing my laundry across the street. Late Sunday evening and it was still open for business , SO I immediately scoped out the Reviews. I was Pleasantly Surprised that this place had sooo many good reviews but was empty! we took a chance &Ordered anyways . I requested half orders bat was told NO by the only employee present.Only two of US so I was disappointed that I couldn’t but Sucked it up anyways ended up paying few cents Short of $50…for food for two! ouch However . the food was really good! ordered BBQ pork fried rice chicken Chow men orange chicken egg rolls &chicken wings. Rice slightly dry do to the BBQ pork but the Chow mein was perfect. So Next time I will order the chicken fried rice too the Orange Chicken was delicious too!
my only complaint is not offering smaller portions because We had so much leftover that I could still feed a small army! But other than that very good and will definitely be back!

Wow! Tried a few Chinese food places here and this one is by far the most authentic and delicious Chinese food meal I’ve had in a long time! They recommended the chicken wings as an appetizer and it was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

I come here ALL the time. The owners are really sweet and they always make me a tofu dish even though it’s not on the menu. Their chow mien is super tasty and their servings are huge. Not to mention affordable! I normally get a tofu dish with chow mien and I have food for 3 days. If you’re looking for great local Chinese food, look no further.

We tried Chinese Kitchen tonight for the first time based on recommendations. We are picky about our Chinese food and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Many times we have visited restaurants that were recommended and we’ve been disappointed. Not here. The building isn’t fancy but the food is fresh, well prepared, and flavorful (mostly). We got the salt and pepper prawns based on recommendations and they were right. They were extremely well made and were our favorite. We also got basil chicken (very spicy), green onion beef, combination vegetables (a little bland for us but very fresh), and combination chow fun. They will adjust the spicyness to your preference. We’ll definitely go again.
