The service was warm and friendly, and our food came out quickly and fresh. My partner ordered the meatloaf dinner, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly hearty, paired with creamy mashed potatoes, and savory, rustic cornbread (so good!). I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, crispy on the outside, with gooey melted cheese and tender meat inside. Absolute perfection!
We also shared the fried zucchini medallions, which were golden and crunchy, topped with shredded Parmesan and served with a tasty red dipping sauce. The cozy, clean diner atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home.
We’ll definitely be back to explore more of their dinner menu. If you’re in Greensboro and craving homestyle comfort food with a smile, The Cherry Pit is a must-visit!
Service was quick and friendly. Would have gotten a slice of pie, but maybe next time when we are in the area.
The cherry pie, however, which was the reason that I stopped here in the first place, was a terrible disappointment.
The crust was fairly awful, a gummy, pasty mix. The cherry filling was your basic canned pie filling. Heavy on the cornstarch and sugar, very light on the cherries. Had 12 small cherries.
Just very disappointing.
The vegetable soup and chicken salad half and half meal was wonderful. The dollar brownies are unreal.
The pie filling stuffed French toast breakfast is massively delicious.
One of my favorite restaurants in Greensboro. So glad the virus hasn’t shut them down.
Went Sunday and ate inside. We were the only customers there, but their takeout business was booming. Free fountain drinks for the delivery companies drivers was a nice touch.
Their small dining room was sectioned off for social distancing, but their once booming, wait to be seated energy was sadly missing.
Food was wonderful, and so glad they’re hanging in there.
Enjoy if you get a chance!
I ordered online for pickup. I placed my order while I was still home at 2:14pm. The ETA for my food being ready was 15-30 minutes. Ordering online charged a $1.50 convenience fee. As I’m typing this, I realized I could’ve just called and placed the order to avoid that.. Oh well.
After ordering, I went ahead and headed to the restaurant since I didn’t live far away. got the Big Tex Burger (BBQ sauce, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato on grilled Parmesan Texas toast) minus the tomato and lettuce and added grilled onions. As a side, I got the sweet potato tots. On Mondays, they have $2 off burgers. They have a special for each day of the week.
I arrived at 2:19pm. Of course, my food wasn’t ready yet. However, while browsing, I saw a desert item that looked delicious: Brownie Ate My Cookie. I ended up getting that too when my order was ready. I can’t say when that was because I stepped out to take a phone call. When I went back in around 2:45pm, it was ready.
I didn’t like how they didn’t put my dessert is the bag with my food. The staff person just placed it on top. When I got in the car, the food and dessert smelled delicious and i was eager to get home and satisfy my hunger! The tots were tasty and were as expected. I enjoyed my burger as well, especially the toast! The Brownie Ate My Cookie was very interesting. I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds to warm it/soften it. The cookie was in the middle. It was very chocolatey and definitely came apart while I was eating it. This could’ve been caused by me warming it up. Nonetheless, it was tasty but I’m not sure if I’d get again.
