I had a good experience at The Chateau restaurant in Andover. Food was amazing and my server was very nice. He provided an excellent service to my family and I. Wish I remember his name The only thing I have to say is the fact that I did have a reservation and I still waited about 20 minutes to be seated. It’s okay though because they were very busy on a Sunday evening. Other than that, great atmosphere, great people and great food!

Anytime I have eaten at the Château, I’ve always had a delicious meal. I happen to order half a pan of meatballs and a half a pan of stuffed shells for Christmas Day from the catering menu and was very disappointed to see the lack of sauce they put in the pan for my shells. The sauce wasn’t even covering the shells at all. Some of them came out very dry and a little bit hard because there was no sauce to pour over them. It looked like somebody took a spoon and just did a swirl of sauce. I didn’t expect them to be swimming in sauce, but I definitely expected it all to be covered with sauce. The meatballs were good, as they could’ve used a little bit more sauce too. I was given a side of meat sauce, but it was very thick with meat and that’s not what I wanted for my stuffed shells. I wanted plenty of red sauce for the shells. Anyway, our Christmas dinner was just MEH. This is a picture of the pan when I opened it before I heated it up.

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and I’ve never once had a bad experience. I really can’t say enough great things about the place. The food is was delicious as always, my favorite is the meatballs¡¡¡ The service was top notch and our order was brought out lightning fast¡¡ The bill was incredibly low as well, four people, four entries, 6 drinks and two appetizers was just ove $200 only 2 drinks had alcohol. Just unbelievable if you ask this guy¡¡ I 100% recommend this spot to anyone who eats food…

I don’t go out to eat much but when I do I like to go to Olive garden. The food’s good and the price is fair. The atmosphere isn’t all that great n the service could be shoddy at times but I don’t go out to eat because I like to hang around and talk to people and make friends. I go out to eat because I am starving and don’t have the time to cook for myself. I live 3 minutes away from the chateau and I was on my way to Olive garden and I was about to get on 93 and I thought to myself why not just go to the chateau It’s really close and it has the same style menu as Olive garden it has to be the same quality or better right? So I go in there, very nice atmosphere, very very good servers but that food absolutely sucked. I got the surf and turf which was three little medallions of steak and three shrimp, with the tail still on, that looked like they went through a wood chipper the way they cut them and tried to present them and I got double rice for my two sides. ($35). I couldn’t believe it, $35 for three medallions of steak three jumbo shrimp and a scoop of rice and not to mention the steak was very bland and unseasoned. The food was nowhere near worth the prices they were asking and it tasted horrible. My advice is to just go to Olive garden, WAY WAY better food at a much better price. You might not get the same atmosphere and you have a 45% chance your server is going to suck but the food is hands down at least twice as good as the chateau. If you’re looking for a place to drink a beer with some older people, talk some shit and play some keno then that’s your spot but if you’re going there looking for some quality food I would probably pass. In my opinion on a scale of 1 to 10 they are a three and Olivegardens an eight. It’s not horrible horrible. It’s not like disgusting or anything,It’s definitely edible but with Olivegarden 4 to 6 minutes away….never again.

Last Saturday I made reservations at the Andover Chateau for 4:00 for 14 of us! That included 6 children! When my husband and I arrived, our waitress Teresa greeted us with a warm smile. We told her our kids and grandchildren might be a little late. Without missing a beat she had cocktails and bread and butter for us and wiped down high chairs. She welcomed each family as they came in and was super sweet to the kids. It was a wonderful night! The food was great and every request was graciously granted. We want to thank Teresa and the people at the Chateau for helping us start our Christmas season on such a high note.

Nestled in the heart of Andover, The Chateau Restaurant offers a charming escape into the world of Italian cuisine, marked by its old-world charm and a warm, inviting ambiance. As soon as you step inside, the rustic decor envelops you—think exposed wooden beams, gentle lighting, and an air that whispers of family traditions and culinary passion. It’s the perfect setting for a night where you can savor good food and create lasting memories.
During my visit, I decided to try the famed “Trio”—a classic choice that showcases some of the restaurant’s signature dishes. The trio features lasagna, Alfredo fettuccine, and chicken parmigiana, with an option to substitute for eggplant parmigiana, which I gladly opted for. The fettuccine, creamy and indulgent, was a standout; it arrived hot and perfectly seasoned, each bite a comforting embrace of flavors. The eggplant had potential but was lukewarm, and sadly, the lasagna was served cold, which was a letdown. The chicken parmigiana also followed suit, lacking the warmth that one craves from such a beloved dish. It’s hard to shake the feeling that perhaps it was just an off night.
Despite the hiccups with temperature, the dessert course was where The Chateau truly shone. We indulged in a molten lava cake that was, as the name implies, delightfully hot and oozing with rich chocolate—definitely a crowd-pleaser! The tiramisu was another highlight, impeccably crafted with layers of creamy mascarpone and coffee-soaked ladyfingers that transported me right back to my last visit to Italy. It was reminiscent of the beloved Costco version, but with a homemade touch that made it all the more special.
Now, let’s talk about the service, which can often be hit or miss in this part of the Northeast. Thankfully, our experience leaned towards the positive. The staff was attentive and professional, checking in on us often and ensuring our glasses were never empty. However, it’s worth noting that, like many places around here, the service sometimes felt a bit casual, which can be both a charm and a slight hindrance.
The free bread on the table was a nice touch, though I found myself wishing it had been heated or toasted, perhaps with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of seasoning to elevate it further.
In closing, while my first experience at The Chateau had its ups and downs, I believe it deserves a second chance. With dishes starting around $20, it offers decent value for families and couples looking for a cozy night out. If you’re a food enthusiast in search of a warm atmosphere and the possibility of delightful Italian flavors, give The Chateau a visit—you might just find your perfect dish waiting for you!

Very, very pricey for catering take out
Example 1 full size tray of Ziti, chicken, broccoli, alfredo $150.
last year it cost under $80. To be totally fair though it looks like they now use my chicken and brocolli in the mix. That was the price of one of my items. I go there every new year’s and get catering takeout. Usually it’s a madhouse 50 people in the lobby waiting for takeout orders. This year I was the only one in the lobby picking up when I was there. They don’t even give you a loaf of bread anymore. I’ve heard of places raising their prices 10% to 20 % but doubling them in one year ridiculous. Can’t afford to go here for takeout anymore.
I can only imagine what items on the their diner menu cost now.
Quality of food here is very good but be prepared for price increases.
