I’ve eaten here before and it was excellent.
I stayed at the hotel and the restaurant closes early on Sunday, but I was able to get something to eat in the bar.

I dined here while staying at the Historic Santa Maria Inn and it was a comfortable upscale experience. My roommate and I went down for dinner between 7:30pm and 8pm and the host welcomed us with a smile and showed us to a table near the fireplace.

It was a Tuesday night so the restaurant was fairly empty. There were only one or two other parties in the establishment. Knowing this place is pricey we kept it light and simple with water and lemon to start and skipped the alcohol. I order the stuffed quinoa ratatouille as my entree and a side of shrimp as a protein.

The servings were pretty big so you definitely get what you pay for. They also brought bread and butter to the table which is a staple I miss in most restaurants. The dish was not overly flavorful, but very filling. The shrimp was well marinated and had a thyme, lemon and butter profile so herbal and savory. Service was prompt and they did not rush us out although we were the last party to leave. Would definitely dine here again and recommend to anyone seeking a ritzy, vintage dinner!

Had an absolutely stunning time here. The wait staff was nice and came by often. The drinks were well made strong yet delicious (had the black margarita and the hollywood). I had the pork chop and it was amazing and was complimented well by the vegetables it was paired with. I cannot speak more highly of this place. As it’s nearby I think I’ll come here whenever I’m feeling peckish and somewhat fancy. Oh and try the creme brulee it is divine!

I had a wonderful experience at The Century Room. It’s a very cozy atmosphere, best for sharing with a special person or people. Dim lights, fire place, dark tones, etc. The service was exemplary. Attentive, but didn’t hover. I ordered the brussel sprouts which were phenomenal, and the shrimp scampi which was equally delicious.

January 14,2025 – Initially I was apprehensive due to the recent negative reviews posted here. I am happy to report that we had a very good time. The food was good as was the service. Everything was fresh. The portions were satisfying and their prices reasonable. The menu was different from what I saw posted here so I’m including a photo of today’s menu.

Just returned from dinner, service was horrible nobody at hostess station , had to go to kitchen to get seated, took 20 mins after being seated to be greeted by a server, no mention of any specials or can we get you anything to drink, when ordering food one dish as completely out as one of our guests had wanted. No attentive sat with dirty plates in front of us, this restaurant used to be a great place to dine. They don’t have a chef they have line cooks . Such a shame this cherished Santa Maria institution has been slowly declining.
