Dane County’s only cat cafe. Offering adoptable cats alongside coffee and snacks, it creates a welcoming space for cat enthusiasts to unwind and potentially adopt a furry companion. The cat lounge is open 10am-5pm Tuesday, 9am-5pm Wednesday-Saturday, and 9am-3pm on Sundays. The cafe hours are 10am-6pm Tuesday, 8am-6pm Wednesday-Saturday and 8am-4pm on Sundays. We STRONGLY recommend making a reservation through our web site for the cat lounge (especially weekends) to guarantee your spot. No reservation needed to come to the cafe, only the cat lounge. Each person in your party should have a reservation (including children). Walk-ins welcomed as space allows. Children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult (18+)

A lovely place to hang out with adoptable cats! We actually adopted one of our cats from here (Bobbi at The Cat’s Brew, now Blobby!). The coffee and pastries are really tasty. No food is allowed in the room with the cats, but drinks are allowed. I appreciate how well the cats are taken care of here. In fact, when we adopted Blobby, we were given a detailed list of all the vet care she had received since coming to The Cat’s Brew and the animal rescue The Cat’s Brew partners with (Little Orphans Animal Rescue). The owners are also both wonderful and super friendly!
Note that reservations are required to hang out with the cats. But you can also visit, get a coffee, and watch the cats from the coffee bar area without reservations, which is fun too 🙂

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great facility with a nice couple rooms for the cats. Honestly the coffee was a bonus. Very relaxing sitting in there with the cats and the music that they have playing.

The Cat’s Brew is precisely what the greater Madison area needed. As a self declared cat lady, I’m surprised I didn’t hear about this magical place until a few months after it opened. I was struck by how cute the interior of the coffee shop was when I walked in. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. The blueberry cream scone I had was very tasty and the folks were kind enough to warm it.
Now. The best part. THE CATS! For $10, I was able to spend an hour with like 10 cats. Most were young, spritely felines. They were all SO sweet. The volunteer gave us the low down on each cat (name, temperament, story if known). We were given toys and treats to give the resident babies. It was truly a dream come true. I can’t wait to go back. It is my new favorite coffee shop in the area. Best ever!

Beautiful space, great coffee, and cute cats!
They have a full menu of espresso based drinks and smoothies, plus games and reading material in the main cafe area. Large glass windows allow you to watch the cats even if you aren’t in the cat lounge.
The room for the cats is massive with multiple seating areas, cat furniture, and toys. I went on opening day in the afternoon, so the kitties were pretty well tuckered out from all of the attention.
I look forward to returning once things slow down a bit, but it was great to see a lot of interest today in this new business- especially since it is the only cat cafe in the Madison area.

I’ve been waiting for something like this to open in the Madison area for sooo long! The coffee drinks were delicious, the workers and volunteers were so kind and helpful, and the kitties were lovely. Lots of different kitties of different ages to pet and play with!! They were very expressive, too, and let you know when they were done being pet. Unfortunately, I’m not in a place to adopt any cats, but all of them were so sweet and cute and very deserving of their forever homes!! 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking to further socialize some kitties, or you’re looking to adopt!! Adopt, don’t shop!!

A great idea to visit with cats that are up for adoption while sipping on a delicious latte! Great atmosphere, great coffee, and lots of fun kitties to play with! Make sure you reserve ahead to be in the special room with the cats because they book up quickly, especially on the weekends! 5 Stars!!
