Popped in for lunch. Very quiet. Friendly greeting. Service was good. Informed about specials.
The food was atrocious. Ordered fish and chips.
Menu described as cider battered haddock and thick cut chips. Crushed minted peas.
The batter was Soo thick on the haddock it was like a corn dog. Batter was an inch thick on each side of a tiny fish fillet that was half an inch thick.
Chips were frozen oven chip style chips. And the minted peas were amazingly totally dry, no moisture at all, like they were not finished. Lemon was the best part of it.
Shocking cooking, cheap ingredients and misleading menu.
Shame
Do better

We had a fantastic roast at The Castle Inn today, everything was perfectly cooked, and we all appreciated the extra jug of gravy that came out with the veg! Nat, Ollie, Mara and Lottie were all super friendly and we had great service throughout. Compliments to the chef and hooray they have Guinness too. Top tier, we’ll be back soon.

There are wonderful people running The Castle Inn. They are so friendly, happy, and always smiling. We enjoyed dinner and a pint before going to our room. The room and bathroom are spacious, a good shower with plenty of hot water, the bed was comfortable, and the noise level was very low. We could hardly hear any noise from the street or the bar downstairs, which was full and open until 11 pm. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I couldn’t finish everything on my plate. I especially enjoyed the coffee and our server, who didn’t mind at all making a cappuccino on request. We had a great stay here.

Wonderful luxurious refurbishment of this once tired old hotel is superb. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable and the staff are very helpful

The roast dinner was very delicious with lovely fresh vegetables. The roast beef was very generous along with roast potatoes and amazing Yorkshire pudding. My only criticism is though my family were well fed I as a vegan only had one slice of lentil roast and no extras. It was very tasty but I could have eaten more. Vegans tend to need a lot of food. Also apart from sorbet there was nothing I could have for pudding. A good experience for my family but I didn’t have enough to eat.

Enjoyable one night stay at the Castle Inn situated on a hill above the town of Bradford-on-Avon. The stone built building is a good age and that rustic charm is evident throughout the building. There is a limited number of free car parking spaces right outside. The staff were all excellent and you feel very welcome. Room 4 is a large double with the biggest bathroom I’ve ever had, and superb views from the freestanding bath! Bathroom apart the room does needs bit of smarting up, particularly the paintwork. Nice inclusive cooked breakfast in the morning, overall a really good stay.

Bar staff super cool. Food pretty good. Not a bad pub considering the large size of it. Could maybe do with one more craft line, but can’t have everything, and likely the locals wouldnt like it either. Who knows though.

Great service and food, I had the burger which was superb and my wife had the Sunday roast (chicken) she said the best roast she’s had in a pub. Only downside was the ale, a little too warm and I tried all three they had on over two days, shame because it’s never tried any of these beers before, highly recommended for the food and service though.
