We had dinner here on Saturday evening, and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded, which made the atmosphere very приятною and relaxed. The food was absolutely delicious — the seafood was very fresh and perfectly cooked. Our waiter was extremely polite and attentive, and we didn’t have to wait long for our dishes. Overall, everything was excellent. Highly recommend!

My husband and I came into Hilton head Island very late on a Sunday evening. We didn’t even take our things to our resort Villa. We just looked for food close by and this was what was available. What a gem we met Willie he provides great service and loves this island and has fabulous personality. Our food was fantastic. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next night for dinner.

We came to this restaurant because we saw on the HHI Foodies site that it had a great breakfast buffet, and boy were the right.

It’s in the Port Royal Westin, so if you use GPS, don’t put the restaurant name or you will wind up at the back end near the delivery entrance.

Starting with our server Randy and his lovely accent, we enjoyed delicious hot coffee and juice before we checked out the buffet offerings.

Eggs benedict with corned beef hash patties, scrambled eggs, thick link sausage, bacon, grits, and a smoked salmon bowl with capers, pickled red onions, and grape tomatoes.

Oatmeal bar with fresh fruit and spices.

Bagels with a conveyor toaster and schmear.

A honey station that had an actual honeycomb you could cut from. Never saw that before!

Fresh smoothies and juice, which was cucumber, celery, and cilantro, and it was so refreshing!

But best of all was meeting Amarie at her omelet station which also provided eggs any way you want them. She was so welcoming and friendly and I couldn’t help but hug her when we left.

We had one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve ever had here. It was a Monday and they had an omelette station, pastry station with real honeycomb, charcuterie station, various hot breakfast foods as well as a juice and smoothie station. They also had a yogurt parfait station with homemade granola and jams. The food was excellent! Good fuel for the beach.

The hostess Natalie was very helpful. She was dealing with a lot of people but still took great care of us. Our server Thadeus was like a one Man band. He was taking orders, making drinks and got every detail taken care of. The food was delicious and the drinks were right on. They also have a great breakfast buffet.

Atmosphere is old, dark, dreary, drab, and needed a refresh about 15 years ago. They should also open the big curtains that separate the breakfast buffet room to let some natural light into the space. Prices for drinks are steep ($18 for an espresso martini), but is to be expected at this type of hotel bar. The bartender was brand new and was very friendly and provided great/prompt service. We ordered 1 Corona Light and 3 espresso martinis for $79 including tip. The espresso martinis were tiny! We asked if he remembered to add all the ingredients because the coup glasses were half full, and he said the shape of the glass is bigger at the bottom which is why they looked small. They were 4 sips each (yes, we counted!) The gentlemen next to us ordered a gin martini and he complained too and was told the same thing about the shape of the glass. Being from NYC, we’re used to paying $18 for drinks but they need to be a proper pour to justify at a tired old place like this. Would not suggest this place to family or friends. There are too many nice places on this island; don’t waste your time and money at this place.

We are staying at the Westin and had dinner at the Carolina Room last night. My husband and I had the steak and halibut and it was fantastic. We ate at a table at the bar and the bartender was so attentive and nice. We even met the chef Kevin who was so friendly and wonderful. Highly recommend and we would come back again!

Had a few meals here over our trip. We really enjoyed the dinner we had here and also the brunch. They had a great eggs Benedict and also a breakfast buffet that was really good. Good service, good drink options and a great time. Thanks for the great meals!

Arrived to The Westin last night and ordered room service from our room. My wife and I ordered a Burger and Spinach Chicken Salad with Balsamic Dressing. The order was delivered in a timely manner but they forget the Balsamic Dressing. After calling three times and waiting for 45 minutes I finally walked to The Carolina Room and picked up the dressing. Poor service and very pricey, would not recommend. Rough start to the vacation but beautiful hotel. The other staff in the hotel have been outstanding!

I have an extreme food sensitivity to corn (starch, meal, syrup, etc.) so eating out is often not worth the hassle.
My husband and I visited The Carolina Room for dinner at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa. The first night, Chef Mark personally prepared the Crab and Shrimp Linguine. The second night, Chef Alex prepared the Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon. Each took care to not include any restrictions. Both Chef Mark, Chef Alex, and the dining staff (Natalie was amazing!) were very friendly and understanding; I did not feel at all like an inconvenience.
Not only was the linguine ‘safe’ for me to enjoy, it was also beautifully plated and so delicious! I’m not sure how the original dish is prepared, but the fresh basil pesto Chef Mark added to the creamy alfredo was definitely the perfect accompaniment to the buttery crab and shrimp!
The salmon traditionally is paired with a honey barbecue glaze and roasted corn. Chef Alex replaced those ingredients with a buttery vegetable medley, kept the nutty quinoa, and added a variation of the amazing basil pesto! It was absolutely delicious!
The Carolina Room offered the best dining experience and meal I’ve ever had while traveling. And, by some kind miracle, I now have the ability to recreate the beloved basil pesto and sauce at home! 😉
