I had the best time here on a date night! The place felt so cozy and the live music made the night feel really special. Our server Dylan was so kind and knew the menu really well. She helped us choose everything and made us feel really at home the whole time.
We started with the baked brie with apples which was warm and so good, and I got the white pizza with blackened chicken that I loved. For dessert we had crème brûlée and it was the perfect ending. Everything was delicious and the whole night just felt like such a treat. I can’t wait to come back again

Really enjoyed this restaurant and we will be back. Highly recommend! There was a single gentleman providing entertainment on Friday night 1/16. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. We were not rushed which we really like. The owner came over and asked how everything was. Restaurant was very clean. Food was delicious. The shrimp appetizer was outstanding. Drinks were made well. We also had the filet mignon, salmon, mahi special and lamp chop special. All were delicious.we had three desserts which did not disappoint either!found on google and was a gem!!

My partner and I came to the Cardinal for our Valentine’s Day reservations. It was hard to notice amongst the other stores, but we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was romantic and intimate with beautiful paintings on the walls. Our server Michael was passionate about his job and very kind and contributed to our wonderful dinner. The app was Brie with seasoned apples and it was so creamy and flavorful! I had the short rib and my partner had the Ribeye. From someone who loves ordering a good steak, it was the best steak they’ve ever had. The steak sauce was house made and jammy, cooked to perfect temp (medium rare) and my short rib was so tender and the spinach and smooth mashed potatoes compliment it so good I basically inhaled it! The dessert was peach and cranberry fruit cobbler with ice cream and it was tart but sweet, with a hint of salty and my gosh! If you want somewhere romantic, with some of the best food in wilmington look no further! It’s unassuming on the outside, but so SO worth it!

What a great spot! First time diner. The layout is really cool with a nice sized bar area on one side and dining room on the other…the food was fantastic and our server Michael added to all of it in a positive way! Great specials including 2 additional seafood options and a diverse menu including multiple small bites if you just want a tapas type of experience. The shortrib and house pasta specialty with added shrimp was delicious. Will absolutely return!

I live very close by and had many opportunities to try a bunch of things on the menu. My family is very picky and usually get our pizza at Mellow Mushroom. So when we get pizza here it’s pretty good. The meatballs here pair so well with the pizza.
I was craving steak and I usually get steak at a steakhouse but I took the gamble here because I was tired from work and didn’t want to go out of my way. I got the ribeye and the owner Russell? made sure the cooks got my medium rare perfect. I’ve never had salsa with my steaks and it was an odd combo but I wasn’t complaining because it was very good and rich in taste. Also the mash potatoes was really good.

This was a great place for a casual date. Sat at the bar and received good service… bartender even suggested tailoring a few dishes to what we were specifically looking for. I was overly impressed that the owner/chef came out and personally asked all the customers if their meal was good, and stayed to chat for a few minutes. The food was fresh and very delicious!!

Our first visit to The Cardinal started off great. We were greeted by a very friendly, knowledgeable server. The food – crab dip appetizer, cast iron made pizza and ribeye steak, and fish special and the wine – were all really delicious! Since we spent over $250 for the four of us, we were shocked to see an extra charge of $.50 for a couple of very small additional pieces of bread we requested so we could finish the crab dip. Really?! That was ridiculous and left a very bad taste in our mouths.

Had dinner last week at the Cardinal. Our appetizer of dates started things off great. My wife had the salmon and I had the fettuccine with blackened shrimp. Both dishes were top notch. The salmon was one of the best tasting salmon’s my wife has had for quite sometime. This is a great place that makes you feel very comfortable with its service and ambience.

I’ve been to The Cardinal four times now, and I’ve never been disappointed! The fried Brussels sprouts with apple butter are absolutely delicious, and the fried oysters are a must-try. I usually go for one of the Entree specials because I love trying new dishes, and they always impress me. The atmosphere can be a little dark, but it adds to the cozy vibe. And seriously, don’t skimp on the apple butter—it’s so good, you might want to ask for an extra serving! 🙂 Honestly, I’d come back just for the Brussels sprouts and oysters—10/10 every time!
