Not just a place to grab a bite while you’re in the bike shop, this place has SERIOUSLY great food!!!! Smoothies are amazing too. The chefs are always cooking up new specials too, I’ve never been disappointed by anything I’ve eaten here!

A cafe in a bicycle shop? Why not! While visiting Grandin Village we stumbled upon this gem. Welcoming and friendly staff, great food … and tucked into the corner of an active bike shop. Great for after a ride or walking in.

Cardinal Bicycle Cafe is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Roanoke. The staff is always welcoming and kind, and the food is consistently excellent. My go-tos: the Brunch Burrito, House Waffles, and—hands down—the best Avocado Toast in the city. The house-made blueberry waffles are always a hit. And no, it is not a Waffle House—no scattered chaos here—but the menu is dialed in and genuinely great.

When I want something lighter, a Field Day smoothie is a solid choice—the Ekto Kooler is delicious and filling. It is also a great place to get work done: bar seating, tables, and a comfy couch make it easy to settle in. For lunch, the Cove wrap and the pastrami sandwich are both winners; the pastrami is on the heavier side, both made with local Yard Bull Meats. Highly recommend!

Don’t be confused by the store sign for bikes! It’s a bike shop AND a cafe. Very friendly customer service. I had chai latte and it was nice (light flavor). Nice comfortable couch to sit and sip on a warm drink while browsing through their Blueridge Mountain picture books on the table.

The atmosphere is very friendly and inviting. The staff is very appreciative and makes one feel welcome for stopping by. Im a clean freak and all I can say the cafe is super clean. The appearance is shiny and clean. Food is always fresh and prepared with perfection. They offer a variety of drinks on the menu as well if a refreshing beverage is preferred. I always look forward to eating and relaxing here while in the Roanoke area

Never thought I’d be writing a review saying that the best waffles in Roanoke are served in a bike shop, but here we are!

This is not a breakfast restaurant. This is very misleading their website says Cafe as soon as you show up it says bicycle on the building no sit-down breakfast food it’s a small selection of coffee. Very misleading and very upset that we drove 15 minutes to enjoy breakfast with the family and kids to come to find out it’s a bicycle shop with coffee

I have had almost everything at the cafe. The rice bowls are tasty and fresh, the pizza is perfect to share after one of the weekly rides, and the coffee is excellent! Pro tip, get a grilled cheese and add a side of Avacado mash. and when it’s cold outside order the Tomato basil soup. Gordon Ramsey would approve.

The only reason I have a job is to buy coffee here. I spent three sad years of my life living in Roanoke and not coming here because I assumed a cafe in a bike shop couldn’t satisfy a snob like me. Learn from my terrible mistake and come to Cardinal right now!!!!!! I love the coffee here. Sixteen stars. They also have bikes if you’re into that

Not exactly sure what has happened to this place. I’ve been twice during the last couple of weeks, and food was very salty and portions were very small. You lost a loyal customer.
