I have found my new favorite steakhouse. The ambiance, the service, the food, easy valet parking and just everything exceeded my expectations. I left so satisfied, thinking about when would be my next visit. Thank you Capital Grille for taking very good care
Of me, money well spent!

We chose to dine here with high expectations, given its reputation as a fine-dining establishment and the fact that our dinner came close to $250. Unfortunately, while there were some positives, the overall experience left us somewhat disappointed.

Environment
The main dining area is beautiful; however, we were seated in a private area, likely because the main room was full. Getting there felt awkward and confusing. The staff member who escorted us walked ahead without checking back, and at one point we genuinely wondered if we were headed toward the kitchen. As first-time guests, a bit more attentiveness would have made a big difference.

The private area sounded nice in theory, but in reality it was quite uncomfortable. A loud group seated nearby made it difficult to relax or even hear ourselves think. On top of that, there appeared to be an issue with the air conditioning at times the room felt uncomfortably hot. Because of this, we ultimately decided not to order dessert.

Service
Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable, and we appreciated his recommendations. However, the pacing of service was very slow. It took about 10 minutes for him to return to take our order, and another 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive.

One small but noticeable detail: while most staff were dressed in suits, many were wearing black sneakers. While we understand the practicality, at this price point and level of dining, we expected footwear that better matched a fine-dining experience.

Food
We ordered the dry-aged NY strip with Courvoisier cream. While the steak was cooked to our requested temperature, it lacked seasoning and flavor. There was no noticeable cream sauce at all, not even a hint. For a dish at this level, we expected much more depth and execution.

Overall, we truly wanted to love this experience, and we recognize the effort behind the concept. However, given the cost and reputation, the experience did not meet our expectations. We hope this feedback is helpful, as we believe with attention to these details, the experience could be greatly improved.

Food was great. Good preseatation, taste and portion. However, you need to prepare your stomach room for the course menu. I originally plan to have soup and cheese cake but need to add main dish so that it was too full for me.

A classic steakhouse with excellent steaks and a wine list, where the service is always top-notch. Ideal for a special dinner or business meeting, although the prices are above average.

I went to try out this restaurant for their Chicago Restaurant Week. The vibe of the place was calm and classy. Time goes by slowly in the best way. Andrew was our server and he was amazing! He kept me company and recommended a wine that I ended up getting more while I was waiting for my parties to arrive. The appetizers was salads and I got the wedge with bleu cheese and smoked bacon, which I don’t like, but with I was surprisingly enjoyed the salads WITH the cheese I normally don’t like. For our main course, I got a 8-ounce, medium rare Filet Mignon with creamed spinach as my side, which I get it, very basic. The steak was seared to caramelized crust, warm ruby-red at the center. The steak had good flavor and doneness, though the exterior was a little tougher than expected. I did finished my steak and also tried their seared citrus glazed salmon from my friend. From her comments on the salmon, she said that it was “well prepared and flavorful”. She also likes her mash potatoes side. I was disappointed in myself for forgetting to take pictures of the food. So please go and try it out!

I had a fantastic experience at the bar here. From the moment I walked in, the staff was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Jasmine, the bartender, was excellent, and the chef, Patrick, even came out to personally check in and make sure I was enjoying my meal, a thoughtful touch that really stood out. The lobster and crab cake is a standout and a must-order. Adam, the manager, was incredibly personable and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. You can truly tell that this restaurant and its team care deeply about their guests. Highly recommend—this will definitely be a place I return to and may just become my new regular spot. A must try!
