Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille is best known for our expertly prepared steaks, which are dry aged in house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by our restaurant’s on-premise butcher. The Capital Grille’s wine list features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500 – 5,000 bottles. Reservations are recommended but not required. I started with the oysters, and they were outstanding—icy cold, briny, and impeccably fresh.
The bone-in ribeye was the star. Perfectly seared with a beautiful crust, rich beefy flavor, and a tender, juicy center cooked precisely to temperature. The Old Fashioned was expertly made—silky, gently aromatic, and not overly sweet. Great balance, clear ice, and a slow, satisfying sip that paired surprisingly well with both the oysters and the steak.
Service was attentive without hovering; our server had thoughtful suggestions and spot-on timing.

The best steakhouse we have been to in Milwaukee! The filet was fantastic with the kona crust. I would also highly recommend the sea scallops and lobster risotto. The amuse bouche was to die for. I was impressed with the service as well. Overall, it’s an expensive restaurant but totally worth it!

What a great evening! They made our anniversary special. Food, drinks, and service far exceeded my expectations! Our server Elizabeth was one of the best I have seen in Milwaukee area. Personable, knowledgable and seemed like she cared. Makes a huge difference when there are so many other options in Milwaukee. Make sure you try the “Doli”! Signature drink for Capital Grille…. I will be back with out a doubt in the near future.

Had my birthday/proposal here. I definitely recommend the lobster mac n cheese. Also the lobster bisque is really good. My boyfriend had the lamb chops & he was happy with them but he was bummed out the waitress came with the cheesecake too early as he wanted to give me a speech before proceeding to propose to me, a lack of communication & probably rushing in between tables could’ve been the cause. The waitress & the rest of the staff did a nice job though, they were professional and really nice. Had a good birthday.

We went here for an anniversary and between the service, and VALET especially it was truly a remarkable experience. I did not get the two valet drivers names but they were so sweet, parked perfectly and offered to walk us to our car since it was dark out. Kristin, our server was so sweet, and catered to all of our needs. Highly recommend the brule cheesecake, and the passion fruit mojito !

Great courtesy bread, creamy lobster bisque and one of the best Dry Aged NY Strip Steak I’ve eating. Ended the experience with a sorted berries & cream dessert with a cup of freshly brewed coffee!

This what one should expect when looking for fine dining. The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I brought leftovers to my dad, who is undergoing chemotherapy, actually ate and enjoyed it… this is no small feat! The food is expensive but it’s to be expected with the quality of the food and service.

This was a solid experience. Service was good which we expect from a restaurant of this reputation. Our server was attentive and the food was good. I would not say that the food was completely mind blowing which at this price point I would somewhat hope and expect. We ordered our steak medium rare and it was a lot more rare than we would have liked. Also we got our Steak au Poivre with the courvoisier cream. The pepper crusting felt a bit too heavy and overpowering to enjoy the actual flavor of the steak. The level of pepper unfortunately took away from the beauty of a dry aged steak and overpowered the entire dish. The macaroni was absolutely incredible… somehow that with the cheesecake (was ordered to go so no photos were taken) was the best thing we ate the entire meal. With that, I give this place 4 stars. I think the au Poivre just needs a little editing and it can be a really beautiful addition to the steak. Next time I would go for an uncrusted steak to really enjoy the beauty of a properly dry aged steak.
The atmosphere was okay. It was fairly quiet until they started to get the dinner rush. Once the rush started it did break some of the ambiance and took away the opportunity of quiet intimate conversation.
