So good! Stopped in for the western omlet was prepped to perfection! While there J asked me to try their banana pudding so i gave it an A++ rating. J knows how to cook and prep so well a true must try! And the pancakes too!

Under new management but definitely not better. By far the worse experience I had at this restaurant. Portions were small for the price and quality is as low as it gets. The staff was friendly and the owner seemed nice but unless the food and service gets a big upgrade I won’t be coming back.

This was a great experience! The new owners (J and Reggie) are absolutely fabulous! Their customer service and care is second to none. The food came out hot and delicious! Savannah my server was great! Prices are amazing, and this Marine was fed well and very well taken care of. They are very veteran friendly so if any of you warriors want a great meal at a very reasonable price, come by and enjoy the atmosphere, food, and good people!

I am sad to say that this place has gone downhill. The last time we went, the new owner and her husband were the only staff in the entire place. The owner is very friendly and took our order, then went to kitchen to cook our food while her husband shuffled around trying to clean so we never saw her again until I had to ask for the check. The food was definitely not what it used to be. Smaller portions and some items were burnt while others were under cooked. They removed some of the cool nostalgic decor and repainted to a dull grey. When I finally was able to get the husband’s attention to ask for the check, he had to go to the kitchen and have her come out to get it. Instead of bringing it, she let us know she needed to cook the food for the other tables first and then would give us the check. 20 minutes later, she came to sit down at our table to start writing up the bill. She had to get up and look at the menu a couple times to look at the prices while she hand wrote the bill and then added it all up. Unfortunately I had to help her figure out how to calculate the tax. The whole experience was such a let down. I have been coming here since I was a little kid and I’m not sure if I’ll ever come back. I truly hope they get some help and turn it around.

Awesome cafe on Denton hwy. Come in and feel like going back in time. The set ups are back in time. Feel even more comfortable with the music bringing you back to memory lane. The menu itself has a variety of choices from eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, and yummy fluffy pancakes I did not review the lunch/dinner options this time around. But since, the break was to dine in for delicious breakfast I’ll be coming back to try later. Everything in this visit was splendid. The Cafe is the place to come while in Haltom City Texas for breakfast and little put back in time.

Had quit going to this restaurant cause the food was going down hill. Went back today and am so glad it has a owner who cares about her customers and wants to serve great food. We also sampled the banana pudding and candied yams they were outstanding. Can’t wait to go back and try the dinner menus. Thank you for bringing real food back to Haltom city.

If you are looking for a place where you can eat good home cooking, made fresh from scratch, just the way you like it, with people that care about you as a person, that will pray a blessing over the meal, that will make sure you get everything you want and nothing less, then you have two choices. You can either go to a) your grandmother’s house, but then you probably will have to help with the dishes, or b) go to The Café and let Jay cook you up a meal that will be so good that you can taste the love she put into cooking for you. No joke, the fried okra is better than I’ve ever tasted anywhere else, and that does include my grandmother (bless her soul). Jay is an excellent cook, but more than that, she has a big heart and you can tell she loves the people she’s cooking for. If you’re in a hurry, maybe wait until you have time to really enjoy the meal. But if you’re ready to relax and taste some collard greens with ham hocks in it, green beans with real bacon, okra that has never been frozen, and enjoy some fellowship, then get yourself out to The Café in Haltom City, Texas.

The odds are if you have been to a Café or Diner more than once in your life, you have probably experienced a meal or two that were pretty bad. The kind that had you asking, ”Really, how did they manage to mess that up? It was eggs, sausage, and toast. “

Talked with the owner who was very sweet and informative onwhat was coming. Breakfast was great and well cooked. She had us try her banana pudding and sweet potato pie, both of which were out of this world. We will be going back soon.
