Service was also terrible. I don’t want to make assumptions, but I am pretty sure the server was really really high on something. She couldn’t remember anything from our orders. She brought us the wrong food and drinks both times we were there. She had absolutely no clue about gluten free. Nothing. Not anything on the menu… she couldn’t even tell me what WASN’T gluten free because she didn’t even understand gluten free. But she did try to guess… which is very very bad. You can not guess when someone has a food restriction. She should know.
Finally, the trivia sound was so very bad. The base was cranked so high that it rattled the walls in our booth. We had to listen to clinking light fixtures all night. When asked to fix it, the server laughed at me and said “I guess he wants a club vibe hahaha” and did nothing. Even after telling the trivia guy several times that we couldn’t even hear the songs for the trivia because the base was too loud… he didn’t fix it.
Bathrooms were also super dirty and I had to walk through clouds of smoke just to get in because everyone was smoking immediately outside the door.
Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.
There were 5 of us, and the plates were brought out individually in 5 to 10 minute increments.
A gluten free burger was order, they brought out the burger on 2 pieces of semi frozen gluten free bread.
The server “stepped out” at some point.
I’d tell you the rest, but why? Don’t go here for lunch.
The food was just OK. The nachos were the highlight. Food specials run many nights — it was explained when I walked in, but it would be good to have them in print. Specials seem to be in flux at the moment, we had to ask for clarity on this more than once
Staff behind the bar were not too fast, speed aside, did not seem attentive, and we had to flag them often. But the one gentleman who served us was humble — admitted he’s not great with names — but I liked that about him. He cared about what he was doing. The chap to my left was often working with one hand in his pocket — no place for that when you’re supposed to be moving and shaking. One of the other servers — fit and confident — came off a little too proud. The service business has no room for ego. The humble route is the better route — and my server had it down. If you don’t notice things like this in service, perhaps you don’t understand service. And if you let it go — good on you — you’re better than me.
Overall, it wasn’t that busy, yet specials and service wavered. Three stars. This place needs to pick its game up.
Three stars.
It was first time here since the familiar location has taken to a new facelift. What a treat, a reasonably priced brunch with lovely flavors.
The restaurant was able to adopt to my celiac needs they offered several options and choices for me to choose from that weren’t native to the menu.
Overall, please try this experience not only for a pub environment but for a beautiful restaurant and a wonderful meal.
Just a quick tip, a little wipe down from time to time. We were in a trailer but ya know 😉
*Note the self serve beer taps* Awesome!
Truly a Canadian experience.
Thank you Team. Can’t wait to try lobster night!
We sat at our table in a near empty pub – and were not served. We had to go up to the bar to order drinks and ask for a waitress. Even after asking we still waited to order.
The food used to be good here. Not one thing we ordered is worthy of one star. The mozzarella sticks were salty, cold on the inside making the cheese more of a solid stick than a gooey mozza stick. The nachos had cheese in one spot, just a pile of plain chips underneath and the pizza .. you could get better quality pizza in the frozen section of a grocery store.
My friends from outside of the city were not impressed.
I was extremely disappointed and will not be returning.
Zero stars. They need to fire the GM and start from scratch. Absolute garbage service at best. The cook sucks they have no business doing more than flipping burgers.
