Had a party of 10, easy reservations online. Greeted with a smile and sat right away. Great live entertainment that gave a great background. Super cute! And everyone loved their dinners. ( yes a little on pricey side but worth it) already making plan to come back to have dinner on the patio!

Was in for a birthday celebration with family. The place has lovely decor and was very festive in the winter months. Enjoy the highlight of the decor early because the rest of the experience is all downhill. We waited over an hour for our food. We often would not see our waiter for 20-30 minute stretches. Mediocre is a generous word for the quality of the food. Ordered the lamb chops and lobster bisque. No discernible chunks of lobster in a hilariously small bowl (for $18 no less), overly salty and added too much cayenne to mask what I assume is a bland canned soup. Lamb chops were varying temperatures and aggressively coated in Montreal seasoning. The menu is dated and overpriced and the person cooking it clearly doesn’t care. DO NOT waste your time or money here. Olive Garden would probably give you a better meal and dining experience.

Beautifully decorated for the holidays and service was very attentive. The problem was the food. I ordered a shrimp penne pasta at $27. The dish had 4 average sized shrimp which still had the tails attached and vein not removed. The sauce was good the quantity of pasta so-so. No side salad, rolls when we sat down. The rest of our party had chicken dishes which were good but comparatively small again for the price and no sides. You had to spend $80 on a steak to get a side dish.

Restaurant decorated for December holidays and was over-the-top! GREAT DECOR and Cozy!
Unfortunately, can’t say the same about the food. Way over priced for a small crock of soup (not a bowl). Wedding soup tasted like French onion meets tiny meatballs. I ate it but not any version of wedding soup I am familiar with, and $16…was expecting a big bowl of soup. Ordered lollipop lambchops from the starter menu, which were tender and tasted good, but I have had exceptional ones at other restaurants. We stayed seated and in conversation long after our meal and nobody was clearing our plates until we were about to leave. Drinks were good! My expectations for the food did not match the high prices paid.

The Cabin use to be a favorite every time we went to the outlets. We stopped for lunch for two people today and dropped $84.00. Now, if it were the best food ever different story… I chose the Cabin salad and added protein…. Chicken. The salad is $16.00 plus the 11.00 chicken I’m expecting a great salad. Super small and the chicken was not even an entire breast and boiled not even grilled. It was slightly grey, disgusting. Now we my daughter and I ordered the Italian Wedding soup, a small bowl $16.00. I am Italian and make wedding soup. It did have pastina and meatballs but kidney beans? green beans? … super weird and almost sour tasting. $32.00 for two small bowls of soup and no crackers, I asked. . My daughter ordered the wedge salad and she seemed to like that, the highlight of lunch. $84.00 lunch of its amazing, I would not care. They need to re-think the food it’s really gone downhill. The server was a sweet young girl, and even seemed to agree the soup was super expensive. My advice is to skip this place.

We had a lovely dinner at The Cabin. Food (thank you chefs) and service (thank you Joe), were outstanding. The atmosphere is just remarkable, cozy, candlelit – breathtaking. The bar area is always exceptionally decorated at Christmas time and into January and February, but the rest of the restaurant is now filled with twinkle lights, beautiful decorations, and a crackling fir in the fireplace as well. I can’t understand how this restaurant is not completely booked from Nov thru Feb. I didn’t want to leave. Summertime offers a gorgeous stone patio with a waterfall. The Cabin is one special, romantic spot to dine!

I hadn’t been to Mario’s Cabin for dinner, for almost 2 years, & at that time, sat at a table with ten friends, for a truly enjoyable evening so, I was looking forward to going back last night with three friends, to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, our experience was a disappointment.
Since it was a Monday night, there were only a few other diners so it was not a busy evening.
Before I mention our experience, I will say, that it was decorated beautifully for Halloween & Fall.
One of my friends & I split a Spinach Salad, which was $16, & they up charged us $2.00 for the split. This $8/9.00 salad was a meager portion, & wouldn’t even have been worth $16 if it wasn’t shared.
It took over an hour for dinner to be served, once our orders were placed. I had Shrimp Ala Vodka, which I could have made at home! There was nothing special about its presentation or flavor.
Another friend had Chicken Piccata, which looked delicious but I was told that it was “not that great”. Another friend had one of the pasta specials, with chicken & shrimp, which she said was good.
Regarding drinks…I was fine with my choice of Pinot Grigio but I was told by one of my friends that her Vodka & Soda was “very weak”, so for her second drink, she ordered a double, & was charged $27.00.
Even though we told our server we were celebrating a birthday, no offer was made to bring a small dessert w/ a candle.
(Recently, I was at The Burntwood Tavern in Solon, celebrating another friend’s birthday, & our server brought a dessert w/ a candle to the table at no charge.)
Maybe it was just an off night for Mario’s Cabin?
I will try it again, not on a Monday, to see if it’s any better.

Very disappointed with our lunch experience and we were not expecting much based on past experiences. The decor is festive and fun and Alana was an attentive and kind server, but there was zero attention to food quality and several staff seemed annoyed by the customers. The prices for soup would indicate a sizable bowl of hearty soup, but the lobster bisque was extremely thin in a tiny crock and the wedding soup ($16 I think?) was a lukewarm cup of weak broth with carrots and onions and one mini meatball. The BLT was cold with soggy bread. The burger got good reviews. It was almost comically bad, but we were determined to enjoy ourselves anyway. My 85 year old Dad said it best, “That was a cluster!”

Our neighbors kept raving about this restaurant and insisted we try it. We were skeptical after reading the reviews, but they offered to take us out so we went.
To say this was a terrible experience would be an understatement. The decor, while festive, looked old and dusty and my allergies confirmed. The service was earnest, but our server definitely needed better training. The food, in a nutshell, was awful. I can honestly say not one dish was good. Frankly, they should be ashamed to charge so much for mediocre food. And, to boot, we waited a long time to get it.
On the whole, we’re still trying to understand our neighbors’ enthusiasm for this restaurant. From what we can discern, it appears nostalgia takes precedence over reality because the food is dreadful. Also, we are still mad we ended up paying for this overpriced and forgettable experience, as our neighbors decided to split the bill although they were the ones who invited us. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.

We were excited to try out Mario’s Cabin for our first time. We made reservations 2-weeks prior.
– Ordered appetizers- soup was luke warm and crab-cakes were almost burnt on outside and under cooked on inside.
– Our main entree order didnt arrive after 1.5 hours of ordering it. Tables that came in after us received their food, which one of their meals is what we ordered. Food never came and we decided left.
I believe they overbooked and service and quailty went out the window.
