Husband and I were looking for a Friday Date night. Burger Basket came up on a FB group. We walked in, found a seat, and was greeted right away. We ordered a special for a 12oz steak with sides. Food was amazing! This is on the way to my in-laws, we will DEFINITELY be back!

I’m about 40 minutes away in Louisiana on business, for 3 months here. I had never been to Mississippi so I took a Sunday drive and specifically headed to the Burger Basket because it’s the only known address chatgpt could find near the state line. The place is nice and quaint. The service was good. All the locals seemed to be pleasant. I ordered the blooming onion, a large hamburger and fries. The only thing that had good taste was the blooming onion. I enjoyed it. The fries were just OK. The hamburger was awful!!! And I mean really awful!! I travel every week on business and have the pleasure of visiting most states (47 of them so far) and the Burger Basket has the worst tasting hamburger. The only reason they’re in business is because, 1. It’s pretty much the only eatery in town and 2. The locals have nothing to compare it to.

I was recommended this location by some article on the internet. My wife and I dropped by on our way back from New Orleans. I’d heard the burgers were good and it definitely was good burger but my wife had a ribeye steak and it was delicious. It was nice and buttery. I also had the mozzarella sticks which were unlike any I’ve had before. They were really good too. My wife had the fried brussel sprouts and she really enjoyed them. We will definitely be stopping by again next time. The night before we went to a fancy place in New Orleans near the quarter and this place puts it to shame. Great job!!

If you’re looking for amazing home cooked meals and sides, this is the place! You get way more than what you pay in my opinion, definitely worth the price and then some! The amount of food I ordered will last me two days for sure, wasn’t expecting sizes to be so big. If you were to get all of what I ordered at another place it would have been smaller, not as good, and more expensive. I ordered a double cheese burger, a side of fried okra, a small potato salad, a small onion rings, and a side of corn nuggets, and fried green tomatoes, I was breaking a fast and now I have food for two days! Definitely will be coming here to try everything whenever I need to break my diet.

Very nice, out of the way, off the beaten path with the best burger I’ve had in a very long time. It reminded me of the burgers from yesteryears they had a very close resemblance to “Orleans Burgers”.
And YES that’s how good it was!
Also snagged a couple of their chocolate chip cookies to bring home because I just couldn’t eat one more bite after that burger. I couldn’t even finish the fries!

The Burger basket is also known as Nola’s Restaurant. This restaurant is very family oriented, family owned and everything family. Huge portions of food for the price $. The blooming onion is a must have and its huge. Best hometown food/cooking. My husband, three children and I love having a family dinner at this restaurant . Its a must visit restaurant if your traveling, want a quick bite to eat or for any occasion!!! Hope you drop in and enjoy everything about this place.

If you have made your way to Osyka, MS, any local can direct you to The Burger Basket! The unique thing about this hometown restaurant is the family atmosphere. It is like coming to the table for supper. The menu has a variety of items from breakfast foods to ribeye steaks. Locals can pick-up their daily plate lunches, and the line at the cashier gets quite long at noon. A crowd from near and far are common. Special night offers are Wednesday for Spaghetti, Thursday for Fried Fish and Friday is Steak Night. The servings are hefty and reasonably priced.
The restaurant originally owned and operated by the late Nyla Price, began as a walk- up and order style place on main street. As her business grew by leaps and bounds, she moved the restaurant to its current location. It was known as Britney Spears’ favorite restaurant when she would come home with the paparazzi following her. Although The Burger Basket is famous for that fact, it is the locals that make it famous by word of mouth.
Tonight, my son and his fiancée offered to take me and dad out for spaghetti – an offer you cannot refuse. My son and his daddy chose the fried fish plate, and the fiancée and I chose the famous spaghetti. Sorry no pics of the food, as we were finished eating and licked the plate before I thought about it. It was all very good, and the chocolate cookie cream pie was perfect!
The new owners are doing an outstanding job keeping the quality and atmosphere going and as a local I appreciate that fact.
I recommend a trip to check it out! The hamburger and fries are the icon item to select or browse the menu for other options.
