Decent burger spot right off of I-5.

Got the 1/4 Deluxe Burger with cheddar and a side of fries. Burger has right amount of sauce, not too much. The fries can use more salt, but they have salt packets out at the condiment station.

The diner is clean, good responsive customer service, and a good amount of indoor seating.

They can use some music to liven the place up, but it is a nice place to stop for a break from a long drive.

Basic burger joint with a drive thru. Got the bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was good and filling while on a little road trip. Not the best but way better than Mickey D’s

I loved this place, not sure what happened but for the cost vs the product I can’t eat here anymore. I’m so disappointed because I grew up eating here and it just went to something similar to high school cafeteria food. 2 bacon burgers 2 large fry and a drink with the smallest tip was 50$…

Don’t do it! My order is never right and they want tips for burgers. Every time I come here my order is messed up. Just recently, I went through the drive-through paid, then another lady comes up to ask me if I paid , i did pay but they only charged for one burger rather than two that i ordered. Have to wait longer and to top off $23 for two cheeseburgers and one sad order of onion rings—-They always ask for a tip! See photo of the sad onion rings. I won’t be going back after several times of giving them a chance.

4 years ago, I passed this place on the freeway and thought about wanting to stop and try it out. Well today my mother and I did, and it did not disappoint. The dinning area was clean, spacious, and handicap accessible. The stay provided smiles and great customer service. And, the food was delicious . I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling North or South on I5 and want to have a Five Star experience at this small town famous restaurant called The Burger Bar. Additionally, note that this place offers a variety of menu options. Lastly, what impressed me the most was when we discovered my mother’s strawberry milkshake had whip cream on it, I went to reorder another one for her but the young man that took our order actually apologized for not asking us if she wanted whip cream, and then proceeded to make another one at no expense to us and let me keep the first one. Top notch customer service. I will be a lifetime repeat customer any time I travel south or north on I5 and pass by The Burger Bar.

Had the mushroom Swiss burger, definitely on par. Had a cup of chili as well, to me it tasted like a can of nally’s. Milkshake was Top Notch. Great place to get milkshakes in the summer…they use real ice cream. Spent about $50 for the two of us… I get it, that seems to be the going right now days but still seems like a lot of money to me.

We were driving from California up to Seattle and saw this place off the highway, so we decided to stop by and I’m glad we did. The moment we walked in, the restaurant felt clean, welcoming, and comfortable. The customer service was friendly, even though they were getting pretty busy by the time we started eating.

Our burgers were great fresh, juicy, and honestly way better than we expected from a quick highway stop. Definitely worth pulling over for. If we’re ever driving through again, we’ll stop here without hesitation.

We have driven past the Burger Bar numerous times, heading to and from Portland, for years, all the time saying “We really want to try this place one day”. Well. One day came along! After dropping our daughter off at PDX, my husband and I agreed that a burger and fries sounded like a nice meal to get before the final 1.5 hour drive home.
We swung into the Burger Bar and were struck by how decent the prices were. We both opted for the 1/4 lb burger, mine with onion rings and husband with fries. He also ordered a chocolate milkshake. The waitstaff was friendly and hustling! It was busy and those kids kept up, all with smiles on their faces.
Our food was delivered to the table quickly. Hot and yummy! The onion rings were excellent. Crispy and golden. The burger was tasty. The meat was a thin patty, and didn’t look hand patted, more like a thin, frozen pre-made patty. That kind of disappointed me, but, to their credit, it was tasty. Honestly, a very respectable greasy spoon kind of burger. Exactly what we were in the mood for! The crinkle cut fries were fried to a perfect golden crisp as well. And, the chocolate shake rounded the meal off nicely!
The menu is large with some great options to try, so my husband and I agreed we’ll definitely be back to do just that!
Next time you’re driving past Kalama, consider swinging into the Burger Bar and giving them a try!

The burgers here are very good. They are 1/4 pound frozen patties so I had a double with everything on it. Everything came out hot and fresh.
