Lovely little place with good sandwiches and cakes, and good service. The vibe is very chill. They have many pies, breads, jams, and other lovely-made grocery items on their shelves. Locals were coming in to buy stacks of their pies.

The Bread Basket has so much to offer! Breakfast served all day, fresh salads and grinders, a nice selection of espresso/coffee drinks, and some delicious refresher drinks! Not to mention all the bread, pies, cinnamon rolls, homemade granola and so much more baked fresh right at the bakery! The place is newly renovated and clean, and the workers are very friendly. Definitely swing by this cafe if you have the opportunity.

My first visit here. A very charming bakery, store. Lovely lady at the register.
Got a loaf of raisin bread, a bag of multicolored popcorn and a slice of chocolate cake for my roommate. Will definitely return when I’ve got more time & funds.
The handicapped entry was a bit hairy… The concrete of the ramp was not flush with the dirt surrounding it.
BTW, when shopping the last hour on Saturdays, baked goods are half off (they’re closed Sunday & Monday).

The best place for grinders hands down. The Joe Tea was really good too. They even cater to those picky like me and put everything on the side. Try their salads. I’d love to know if you could eat it all in one sitting!! Wonderful owners and wonderful emoyees! Highly recommend.

The food was alright, however with only 2 customers ahead of us, it took over 40 minutes to get our sandwiches. There were signs saying they were short staffed, and 1 staff was on break during lunchtime (sitting outside for almost the entire time we were there), seems like they could use better management. Most shelves were empty in the store part.

Best pancakes you will ever try!!! They just melt in your mouth. The bread and sandwiches are super fresh. The cinnamon sugar donuts are perfection, and its no wonder they sell out! The service is always very pleasant. We also like their homemade lucky charms marshmallows they have for sale. The cheddar bread is yummy, too. Better than any store bought varieties anywhere. There is no longer a dining area to sit, but they have a variety of awesome goodies to buy. They also have jams/jellies without added sugar!! Did I mention the pancakes are the best you will ever try!!!

I love this place. Been going since the beginning as a teen, when the tiny shop was located at the current dollar general site. I love what they’ve done with the new location and are expanding their offerings. Food is always delicious, from sandwiches, to cinnamon buns, and snacks… everything is great. The ladies working are always friendly and have fast service, even when the store is busy.

Pleasant experience. The staff were attentive and solicitous. The interior was clean, light and welcoming (I love the remodel)! We got the breakfast burritos and they were delicious. The whoopie pie samples were phenomenal (I love how the free samples are genuine samples – and they worked because we purchased two whoopie pies)! The coffee was fresh – all around the Bread Basket is a must visit in Russell MA.

I’m giving this place only 1 star because I couldn’t give it any less unfortunately. While the food here may be decent enough, the little girls who work in the joint refuse to honor all coupons that you bring in for discounts or free merchandise. If you happen to get a set of coupons in your Sunday paper for this place, you better be prepared to only be allowed to use 1 coupon rather than the multiple ones they have available in the flyer. In the recent past, you could use every coupon you have, but clearly things have changed now sadly most likely to due to greed.
