I came in on Saturday right at the end of the lunch menu, beginning of dinner. You can sit inside or outside. There are heaters outside since it’s cooling down for winter. I dined alone, however I saw couples, friends, and families dining together also. I ordered a cup of clam chowder, shrimp burger, fries and slaw. Everything tasted good! I loved the clam chowder! I didn’t really like the slaw, but I’m picky about my slaw. The service was good. Nothing over the top, but it wasn’t bad. Just nothing super memorable. I was just in town for the day, but I do plan to eat here again.

Went over for some seafood with the family and we all loved what we bought. I saw Panang Curry with shrimp but can’t eat shrimp, they did a great job at swapping the shrimp for fish and it was delicious. The pasta dishes and fried platters were also very good. Great atmosphere, food, and service. Shout out to our waiter Ethan, we’ll done young man!!

Great restaurant with nice outdoor space (was a little cold last night to eat out) and beautiful views of the water. The drinks were spot on, and the atmosphere was perfect for a night out. Our group of 10 was handled with ease by the friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend The Boro for a fun and relaxing evening!000

I came here on a Sunday night for my Anniversary. I have never been here but heard about it friends. It looks like it would be a really fun place on the weekends with their outside sitting and heaters. It’s cozy inside. When we arrived it was an hour before closing so there wasn’t very many people which made it a nice atmosphere for the purpose of our visit. Our server was very nice, very friendly and informative. The bartender was also amazing. He made our drinks very well. They were delicious. We got the Cajun pasta, shrimp and Tuscan Chicken along with turtle cheesecake and a chocolate overload slice. All of it was amazing and delicious. We will definitely be coming back to try out the other items on the menu.

For the first time in our 54 years of marriage, I heard my wife complain about a dish she had been served in a restaurant. She ordered shrimp and grits without reading the menu description. We are coastal Southerners who grew up eating shrimp and grits. We have seen a simple working person’s breakfast evolve into a complex dish served with several savory innovations (cheese grits, andoulill sausage, etc.) This dish was more a mutation than an evolution with picked watermelon, pickled jalapeños, goat cheese, a sickeningly sweet honey sauce puddled over 18-25 count shrimp overcooked to the size of crayfish tails. When my wife said the dish was not good and that she had grown up with better, the waiter responded that, “maybe Yankees just didn’t know how to make it to Southern tastes.” I agree, except the cook simply doesn’t know how to cook the dish at all.

Nice but nothing special. The young man that waited on us, basically forgot to come check on us after the food was delivered. I wanted mustard and my friend got up to go get some. He found the guy chatting up another employee in a different room. I have been here a few times. This was not the norm from my past experience. I will give them another try soon.

Quaint little restaurant in the cutest coastal town. We’ve dined here several times and have enjoyed both the lunch and dinner menus. Service is great and the food is delicious.
Started off with the Fried Cheese Ravioli Appetizer with Marinara Sauce. One of our favorites. Our main entrees were the Ribeye (with salad and mashed potatoes) and the Chicken Parmesan, cooked perfectly.
If you’re in the Emerald Isle/Cedar Point/Swansboro area, I definitely recommend.

I had a pretty good experience here. Fathers Day, place was a little busy. We ate outside under the cover they have posted outside. The river breeze was nice and soft. Felt super good. Our table was one of those metal mesh patio tables. It was very wobbly, but it did the job. We ordered the Crab Dip and it was amazing! Definitely a must have for an appetizer. I ordered a platter of Fried Shrimp & Flounder with Sweet Potato Fries. My wife ordered the Olde Fashioned Burger. She said it was one of the best burgers she’s had in a while. My dish was okay. The fried shrimp was pretty good, the Flounder didn’t have much flavor to it, but it wasn’t bad with a little salt and pepper. The sweet potato fries were under all the fried food. They were okay too, they didn’t really season anything. To me it was just cooked. The sweet potato fries were just that, and I think my plate was recently cleaned. One of my fries tasted a lot like soap and it was a little gross. The rest didn’t though, so I just brushed over it. The waitress took care of us very well and even though our food took a while, she let us know why it was taking so long and kept us informed. Very profession and nice. Constance, I think it was. Thank you ma’am!

Eventually the local wildlife decided to come by and get any leftovers that might have fallen. They were cute Ducks and wagged their tales and were friendly enough. Not anything to do with the restaurant but it was just a cute experience.

Overall this place is a nice location with the river right there and the breeze was amazing. Service was good. I’d give it another visit but I’d definitely try something different off the menu.

This is a must-try spot. I had the tuna tataki, which was perfectly seared and seasoned. The strawberry spinach and arugula salad was fantastic, and I especially loved the dressing—it was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The crab tostada was the perfect, crispy finale. I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I came here for our 2nd anniversary after kayaking, we felt very underdressed! This place is nice. I ordered the shrimp and grits, I have to say it is on my top 5 best things I’ve ever eaten, I don’t know what the other 4 are but I feel like saying it’s THE BEST would make me sound dramatic. I was blown away! It was $26 and absolutely incredible. My husbands New York strip was very big, the menu said 12oz but Ive had many 12oz strips and this one was definitely way more large than 12oz! (Unless my eyes were playing tricks!) I will say, while his strip was definitely big, came with a picture perfect char, mashed potatoes, AND vegetables, it was mid for the price ($36) the flavor was good, definitely not bad, but not the best steak I’ve ever had. Being one of the two most expensive things on the menu (the other being a ribeye) I expected a little more from it. Our waitress Christina “Chrissy” was very good at anticipating our needs and we did not go without. We also got a crab dip, the calamari, and two lemon drop martinis, they were all great! We were impressed! We will definitely be back and try to get more of the items highlighted in blue on the menu, those are the staff favorites. Our bill before gratuity (20% of course), after tax was $125 for the two of us with no dessert. Definitely a tad expensive but worth it in my opinion!
