I eat there regularly with a friend and with my church small group. I love the friendly, “diner” atmosphere reminiscent of the 60’s. They have a large breakfast menu and I have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered.

A small, hometown restaurant, but don’t expect Mayberry just because it’s North Carolina. Food is good and simple. Cooked to order. Biscuits aren’t homemade (pre-made frozen) but decent. Tea tasted from concentrate.

I ordered the Sunrise. The biscuit had an incredible balance of crunch around the outside and warm fluffiness in the middle. I loved it! Bacon could have been a little more “limp” lol idk how to explain it, but it was still good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the syrup only because it seemed a bit runny. The pancake however was delicious! We had bottled sodas which I liked and cups of ice.

I hate to be this guy, but if you’re going to post that you close at 11:00am, please don’t turn paying customers away at 10:54. I try not to go to places right at closing time, but I misread that the Saturday closing time was a little earlier than others…I thought we had at least half an hour.

Maybe make your cut off time 10:45 or something and draw a hard line there. It just left me a little perturbed given the cost of things now and how important business seems to most restaurants.

A local fixture/favorite here in Wake Forest NC, for good reason. A cool old diner, wonderful staff, comfortable vibe. Generally speaking, the food is good and very reasonably priced, but no pun intended when I say that after ordering the petite sirloin with eggs, etc. yesterday morning, I do have a ‘beef’…. ….See, I know the difference between a sirloin and a piece of pounded out flank steak, akin to what your average Mexican restaurant serves and pretends it’s a steak, if you know what I mean. Everything else with the meal was excellent as usual…. . Soooo, definitely put The Border in your regular rotation, just don’t order a sirloin . Of course I’ll be back soon, and they make a killer Western omelette ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Checked out this spot for lunch today with my Mom. Definitely a country kitchen type place which we like with good prices. Servings were not huge which is good for me since I’m watching what I eat. Food was pretty good, hot and country cooking. I got the turkey which came with stuffing/gravy and 2 sides which I chose collard greens and butter beans. Collards was good butter beans were a little hard could have cooked longer and not much seasoning, salt/pepper fixed it tho I denied bread. My Mom got the cabbage roll which came with sauerkraut and she got mashed potatoes and gravy, butter beans and a roll. Service was great place is large wasn’t very busy at 1130am. Not much parking if they are busy tho, will try it again for breakfast one morning, I took pics of the breakfast menu and there is alot of choices and again reasonably priced. Love finding places we haven’t been and this was mentioned on the Wake Forest community Facebook group. Oh and they open at 4am….yes 4am how busy are they then really…. Breakfast til 11am then lunch 11-2. It was $13 for us both….so again great prices not spectacular but it’s good….

The food is good here but boy is just place filthy! The booth seats have rips in them, the ceiling has dirt everywhere and they even have a tube television playing in the corner. The television has to be at least 20 to 30 years.

As of June 2024, it appears only breakfast is served. Hidden gem! Seat yourself. Wait staff is phenomenal. Food is DELICIOUS old school dining at it’s finest! Easy on the wallet too. Just take your receipt to the front to pay. Credit cards accepted. Oh and be forewarned, closed on any holiday weekend.
