Carne asada jim bowie style. The sauce is where its at with Jose’s rice. Im so glad they brought it back. I goes with anything on the menu. Petit filets were better, Carne asada tends to get burnt, but still edible..
Other items in the menu are good. Fajitas, etc.

We were visiting the area and stopped by the Border Cafe for dinner at about 6 pm on a Thursday. The place was packed, but we got a table right away.
The first impression is that the place is noisy as they play loud music, which forces patrons to talk loudly to hear each other. The 2nd impression was that the atmosphere is vibrant and family-friendly as there were many families with their children.
As soon as we were seated, a warm basket of tortilla chips and salsa was delivered by a friendly and bubbly server (Jade), who took our drink order.
The menu is a combination of Mexican and Cajun food with reasonable prices.
We ordered a plate of 2 chicken tacos ($9.87) and 2 fish tacos ($11.96). Each plate comes with a choice of 2 sides like black bean, rice, and blackened broccoli. We’ll definitely visit again.
Everything was delicious, and we were checked on by both Jade and the manager several times to make sure everything was okay.

Great food and a fantastic atmosphere. It is a very popular place. The only drawback is it gets very loud. We were there and could hardly hear one another. Interesting combination of Tex-Mex and Cajun. Never would have expected that. They have a nice place to eat outside but it was too hot to eat there. Everyone ate indoors.

I’ve been coming here for years, ever since a friend of mine took me here with her family 6 years ago, and this place has been consistently delicious every single time. Everyone close to me knows that Border Cafe is my favorite place to eat and I’ll literally bribe my husband to eat here. We live 40 minutes away so I don’t get to come too too often, but it’s definitely at least once every couple of months and I order the same dish because I’m loyal to it’s deliousness. I highly recommend getting the beef burro with brown rice and beans. I usually order the appetizer size quac and sour cream to go along with my food and chips. Their piña coladas are also amazing and extremely flavorful. I’ve never had an issue with staff and they are all friendly and welcoming. Our last waitress we had at our most recent visit (I forget her name) but I loved how she asked all of the specific questions while I ordered to make it easy on me to not forget anything. The prices are fantastic, especially in this economy lol, it’s a part of why I love it here. Parking lot is usually pretty full but I always say that’s how you know it’s good! (You’ll still be able to get a spot dont worry) Seriously though, I would cry if this restaurant ever closes because it’s my favorite. Attatched is a picture of their delicious guacamole.

We really enjoyed our time and the food here. The atmosphere was great, the food was tasty and reasonably priced, and the service was decent. There’s plenty of parking available, which is always a plus.
The fries were perfect, and the blackened chicken was awesome, just a bit on the salty side, but still delicious.
One note: it might be a bit too loud for babies.

For “Tex mex” it’s a good choice. Food is fresh, cooked well and you get a good size serving More than enough choices for everyone to find something they like. I ordered the Blackened chicken quesadillas that come with a creamy ranch (which was very good). My husband ordered the gumbo which was a big bowl served with garlic toast They start you off with warm chips and house salsa which is refilled at request. Service was fast and accurate. Our waitress was very good. Checked on us multiple times was super friendly and very good at her profession!!! Even if the food was mediocre (which it wasn’t) I’d come back just for the service. High end restaurants don’t need to be the only ones who give amazing service- chains and smaller places need to remember that too! Very reasonable price $25 for 2 for lunch was a great value. Definitely will be back. Stop on in and try this fun spot. Our waitresses name was Rebekah… Big shout out!

My husband and I used to come here 1–2 times a month. This was our spot. The drinks and food were always amazing, service was fast, and we were always well taken care of.
But within the past year, we’ve noticed a huge difference. One of my favorite entrées was changed, and now I have to make a special request just to get it the original way. They also replaced their fun, festive fiesta plates with dull, plain ones, which honestly reflects the overall vibe now.
The biggest issue, though, has been the service. One time, our server completely forgot to put our meal in. We watched other tables come and go, and we never received an apology from the server or the manager (and this was right when they opened, so it wasn’t even busy). Another visit, we waited 20 minutes just for a server to greet us, and once we ordered, the food took forever.
We stopped going for months because of this, but I recently went again with friends and it was still terrible. Our margaritas were completely watered down and tasted like there was barely any tequila. When we mentioned it, the waitress didn’t seem to care at all.

Amazing food. Just had the chicken etouffe and wow. Very good portion and it was sooo good that I’m looking up recipes to try making it myself. I will have to go back for theirs once in a while, much like going back home to mama’s cooking even though you know her recipes haha Border will always be a favorite!

I always come here with my granny and get the shrimp tacos … omg they are soo delicious… cost about $15 for the 3 shrimp tacos . The chips are always too hot just in time for my food to pop up … their cherry coke is ginormous and so good … always a great experience.
