Well laid out inside, good amount of room.
Had the lunch combo with 3 ribs & 1/4 chicken, all BBQ. Chicken is available broasted, too. All come with slaw has cottage fries plus a slab of garlic toast.
The ribs could use a bit more time to break down that soft tissue but had decent flavor. The chicken was literally falling off the bone, very tender.
Coleslaw was a bit soupy but decently, if lightly, flavored.
There is only one sauce, also lightly flavored. A selection of flavors would be nice. Hot sauce is available, too.
Personally love that the sauces and dressing are in-house. The Greek dressing is bold and has a flavor that is unique from other places. The BBQ sauce is really good, tangy and sweet that definitely sets off the ribs and chicken. I really like that the chicken is broasted , it’s always juicy, and the outside has that awesome crunch. ( Not many places offer broasted anymore) The ribs are always cooked perfectly , big bones, and have good bark. One of my favorites is the Boneyard burger, a pork/ beef mix that’s a hefty 1 pound slab of deliciousness so big 2 slices of American cheese fit across it. It comes on two thick pieces of fresh baked garlic bread and I dare you to try and eat it all. Lol. The menu here is diverse and full of combination plates to satisfy whatever craving you have. The steak is always cooked to perfection, juicy and has that charbroiled taste. Their signature potatoes, the cottage fries, are excellent. Thick sliced, firm , but not soggy. Price point, this place is very reasonable and competitive. You will always get a great deal of food and quality for your money. My last visit there I was granted the honor of being the very last customer before they closed. The manager there got me in a seat and had me on my way to food bliss in a flash. I was politely greeted and waited on by a server named Laura who awesome and very attentive to my needs. (Especially the bud lights). Lol I took my time making a choice ( always a challenge) , and went with the ribs, shrimp and broasted chicken. For being so close to closing , everything was prompt, fresh and not leftover stuff that was just sitting. The manager was not afraid to help his wait staff gathering things or speeding things along. Sign of good leadership, I don’t see a lot often, kudos to him. I was first presented with a heaping pile of ice cold coleslaw that was very tasty. The freshness should be noted, nothing soggy or wilted. Not long after, a platter spilling from the sides is seen coming to the table. I hadn’t eaten anything all day, so I was ready. Needless to say the food looked top tier, as always . The chicken was super juicy and golden brown on the outside, the shrimp were huge and perfectly battered, and ribs were super moist and delicious. I ate till I couldn’t no more. This dinner could have easily fed 2 people. Laura could see that I was taking some home and swiftly came in with to go boxes . (She was a sweetheart) To my surprise I was blessed with a dessert , turtle cheese cake, as a customer appreciation at additional no charge!. Best slice of cheesecake I had in a long time. I have to add that they have a variety of desserts to choose from , something for everyone. In closing this place has great tasting food and quality service. Just about anyone would enjoy the menu and atmosphere. It definitely has stood the test of time and has never faultured. This will always be one of my favorite places on this side of town, thanks Boneyard
I absolutely love the French onion soup. The onions were real and not overcooked.
