Fast forward to my second visit, I arrived around the time they said they would open at 4 PM, but they were running behind schedule. I ordered 10 shrimp and 2 lbs of crawfish, which included potatoes, corn, and eggs, totaling around $55-60. With all the rave reviews and advertising, I had high expectations for this meal.
Unfortunately, my excitement turned to frustration as I waited two hours for my order. Meanwhile, I noticed several customers who arrived after me were able to place their orders and received them within 10 minutes. I later learned that they were simply walk-ins, not phone orders. One customer even left after waiting a long time, only to return and find out her order had been mistakenly given to someone else. While they did issue her a refund, it highlighted the disorganization.
When I finally received my food, I was met with mixed feelings. The flavor was lacking and certainly did not live up to the positive reviews I had seen, but the lengthy wait overshadowed the experience. Another customer waiting for her order had been there for 45 minutes and was understandably upset when she heard my two-hour wait.
In summary, while the food was decent, the excessive wait time made this visit a letdown. I came back hoping for a better experience, but I think this will be my last trip to Boiling Bayou. If you plan to visit, be prepared for a potential wait of 45 minutes to even two hours. It may not be worth the time investment.
