One of our best food experiences around buckeye lake ( if not the best ). The tuna appetizer kicked started our taste buds to another level and the flavors continued as our entrees came out. We are picky when it comes to our steaks and they nailed the sear, tenderness, and doneness. My seafood pasta tasted like I was back on Anna Maria island. The atmosphere was the only thing we couldn’t put our finger on. The food belongs in a fine dining establishment but the restaurant isn’t designed that way. If you want to watch your favorite sports team play and also eat amazing food, this is it. Best of both worlds!

Genuinely one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time especially for a party of two. Our server Juan was amazing and very kind, trying to be communicative the entire time. Other than the great server we waited over an hour for our appetizer which was the bang bang shrimp, it was decent but you pay $12 for 5 shrimp just not worth it. I got the fish and chips for an entree, the fish tasted off like a pond/uncleaned taste, the fries were good but nothing was drained so everything was dripping oil and laying in a puddle of oil. My girlfriend got the chicken tenders and fries which both tasted good but the chicken was so dry to the point it was not worth eating. Will not be back.

We went to dinner at the Blue Heron for Valentine’s Day and it was awesome! We were impressed by the food, service and atmosphere. We actually had the owners approach us to check on how we’re doing and if we were happy. It was a very nice experience. I would recommend everyone tries this restaurant. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. Our margaritas were pleasantly surprisingly delicious. It’s hard to find a good margarita out. It was a great experience! Also they let us know that they will have live music in the warmer months.

Great find along our route. We started off with cheese curds that came with 2 delicious sauces… One was raspberry jalapeno sauce which was amazing!
I had lobster bisque and a cod sandwich. Both were great. My wife got the meatballs. They’re mild and we prefer spicy meatballs but still decent. Overall looking forward to returning to try other things on the menu.

Just had dinner here for the first time since the recent remodel, and everything was even better than expected. I had a fantastic experience—the fish & chips were amazing!
We received a warm greeting from Jenny, one of the owners, and the rest of the staff was attentive throughout the entire meal.
Can’t wait to go back!

We were there for dinner. My wife’s burger was delicious however her fries were mostly cold, didn’t seem freshly fried at all. I had the Shrimp and Grits, the shrimp were advertised as blackened, however, the 5 in my dish appeared to only be boiled to warm. The grits were skimpy with not much body. The plate was Drowned in sauce to the point it was more like a soup with a few shrimp swimming around. Not what you expect for the price. Maybe you should send your cook to the South to see how good Shrimp and Grits are prepared.

Plans changed and we ended up headed here for Father’s Day Brunch, then ended up just having lunch. Food was solid. My fried cod sandwich was crispy and you can see they dont skimp on the chicken tenders. I have to knock it down a star for the lack of coffee refills and a wobbly table.

Just tried the new menu. All of our food was excellent with plenty of unique options and a wide ranging kids menu for our little one. Servers and staff were all super friendly. Cocktails were spot on too. We will be coming back when we are visiting the lake!

We decided to try the Blue Heron after its recent closure and reopening, we were weekly patrons prior to them closing recently. Prior to their closing the restaurant was warm, friendly, amazing food , great staff, just a great atmosphere. That has changed and not for the better. If we could rate it less than 1 star we would. We sat at the bar, not during the dinner rush as we are late eaters. We were greeted fairly quickly and drinks were obtained fairly quickly, that was the best part of the evening. It was near to 30 mins before we were asked if we wanted to order food. Food was presented by our bar waitress who had just came back from a smoke break and wreaked of an ashtray. One order was cold and undercooked, the other missing items. Drinks ordered from their specialty cocktail menu, yet the drinks were not made with any consistency and actually were quite bad. We witnessed the bartender blowing their nose then handling drink-ware and such without washing their hands. And then wiping their nose with their hand and handling more drinks, silverware, and so on. Everyone seemed unhappy to be at work, no smiles, no friendly interaction. The atmosphere is definitely not the same. Aside from the service and food, the decor is horrible as well. Fishnets, mermaid pictures, and not a square inch of open wall space….pretty over the top. It isn’t a seaside restaurant in Myrtle Beach…its like every tacky piece of ocean decor from Hobby Lobby was bought for decoration. Very disappointed that the establishment decided to try something new. Something as simple as having cloth napkins and now having paper, cheap paper menus, and staff that were always dressed in nice black shirts and pants yet now wear wrinkled t-shirts and faded jeans…..all things that are okay in some restaurants but not at this price point.

Glad to have checked the Blue Heron out. The food was good (enjoyed my wedge salad), the drinks were also good and the beer selection was decent. The bartender and our server were both friendly and welcoming.
