The Black Duck is good, really good. The price:taste ratio is fantastic and this place has some of the best burgers and pizzas in the East Seattle area.
For those who are more adventurous and want to try duck without committing hardcore, this place is for you. Just know this: the American cuisine served here has a distinct tinge of smokiness and hint of “burnt” flavor that really brings out the sauces and meats. If that is not for you, then get better taste buds! Only downside is on sports days and weekends, expect long waits as people will stick around after eating to chat and order drinks.

I visited this place and the restaurant is super busy with people waiting in line.
The waitress knows little about my situation but I am pregnant, my husband and I came from hospital and I dint had any food all day.
The moment waitress came to us, she gave the preference for us and gave a table while there is big line of customers waiting.
The customers also did-not made fuss about it. All I want to say is these days seeing kind gesture from people is rare and the ladies who work there are really kind and respectful.
Great place to hangout. Very lively and food is great too.

While the food was definitely good, the service left much to be desired. We didn’t arrive at a busy time but the waitress was dismissive and didn’t come back to check on us as often as other tables. Not sure if I would come back or not, maybe a busier time I’d get better service? Also, they said they allowed dogs when I called, but my dog had to sit outside the patio area. So…don’t expect a dog-friendly place side note: Grilled romaine lacked fresh ground pepper and we weren’t offered any (none on the table either). Burger was juicy even though I ordered medium well.

Great food, but…. We were seated relatively quickly, and someone brought us water. No one else came by our table for at least 15 minutes. It’s hard to blame our waitress, because it looked like she might have been taking care of the entire restaurant. Where is management? We ordered our food and drinks at the same time (not wanting to risk waiting to order our food). After another 15 minutes, the bartender brought out our drinks. Two minutes later, someone from the kitchen brought out all of our food. Normally, we like to enjoy our cocktail before our dinner. Happily, with the exception of luke warm (albeit tasty) french fries, the food was very good. Hopefully, the service issue was just a one-off….

First time in, read menu online and decided to visit. First, it’s REALLY, REALLY LOUD inside. Couldn’t have much of a lunch conversation with the girls. Helena was an excellent server, friendly, knowledgeable and fast. The food was good, some tweaking was needed on a dish or two. Good pizza, crust n sauce and fresh ingredients. Onion rings were not tempura, batter was heavy n greasy. Salads were delicious. So, I would say yes, do visit this pub, there is certainly something on the menu for you.

The only downsides were the noise level (it gets quite loud inside, so we had to raise our voices to chat comfortably with others at the table) and the parking lot feeling pretty dark at night. Also, Google Maps directed me to a nearby wrong spot—seems like their pin or details need an update.
Overall, the food and drinks are worth it, and I’d definitely go back!

The Black Duck Cask and Bottle never disappoints! My boyfriend and I stopped in for a late lunch on a slightly chilly Sunday for craft cocktails (Spiced Pear Spritz and Neon Moonrise) and the Cast Iron Pot Pie with brisket and all were delicious and the perfect compliment to the day. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed with fun music playing. The staff is friendly and personable with the perfect amount of engagement. We will definitely be back to enjoy again soon!
