From the time we walked in to the time we left, Amazing Date Night Environment!! Hands down best service and food we have had out here in our area!! I had the Steak Tacos, AMAZING!! My Beautiful Wife had a Tuna Steak and Thai chili shrimp. AMAZING!!
Absolutely gorgeous view of the Marina!! Awesome bar top and the options for Non-alcoholic beers are available.. Parking was easy and available.. We will be coming back to try even more food next time..
The only recomendation I have is to use some colored linens on table tops to help the dining area pop..

We so enjoyed our first time at The Black Duck. We met Todd and the staff was so friendly. The crab dip and baguette is fabulous!! My husband’s Old Fashion was on point. We certainly will be back for more cocktails and atmosphere!!

We had a delicious dinner our first time at both Yankee Point Marina and the Black Duck. What a wonderful advantage to have such an excellent restaurant on site. Our steak tacos were delicious — lots of tender steak and enough roasted potato and bacon to round out those full meaty flavors. Salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. Oh my. Delish. We had the sweetest server — and I’m sorry I don’t know her name. But the entire evening was a big win and we can hardly wait to come back.

If you want a reasonable meal that tastes delicious with drinks to match, offering incredible views, don’t miss this one. The staff are extremely friendly and plenty of spots to park your boat!

Server was excellent. New management finding their way and it may take time- we may consider returning after several months have passed. Food was disappointing and not same caliber as we experienced on previous occasions. This restaurant had been a true hidden gem. Now, literally lil pieces of tape permanently covered up several popular menu selections no longer available (not too classy) and we were told quite a few seafood items were already “out and unavailable” at 4pm on a Saturday. No longer offering Key Lime pie— or any desserts today that didn’t feature raspberries. Most disappointing were that the formerly fabulous burgers appeared to now be pre-made pressed patties (yes, seriously). Salads were nicely prepared. The tension was palpable from lead staffer and unfortunately in such a small restaurant, customers could feel it. Wi-Fi was locked not allowing guests to connect (wow). Again, our server was superb – single-handedly salvaging our dining experience, but the meal was not up to previous Black Duck standards – not even close. Wishing new management well and understand it’s difficult to coordinate everything in a new venture.

We had six order of fish and chips. Five were good. One was less than half the size of others and very thin. Had a chew texture. When I said that it was not acceptable to serve one like that., our server said the would tell the kitchen. Cook came out and said does someone have a problem? Pretty rude. He said I can throw down a half for you, not all fish is same size. I told him I realized that but this was not EVEN CLOSE. The half they brought out later was bigger the the original piece.
In addition to all of this we waited over 48 minutes for our food to start with.
Very disappointing place. It will not be on our keeper list!

Last night was the third time we’ve visited TBD and it’s always enjoyable. I appreciate the atmosphere being relaxed yet refined. Our food was yummy, but the star for me was the mojitos I had. Hahaha!
I have family coming to town soon and this will be where we make a reservation to come for dinner absolutely.

We went to Black Duck after hearing there is a new chef – there are not many options for good restaurants close by in the northern neck. Any restaurant that has a good chef will be welcomed!! Two of us got the tuna – previously a favorite – which was slathered in wasabi and the mixed vegetable to go with it was kimchi. Really – kimchi is the mixed vegetable? The tuna was supposed to be seared but it was raw.
Everyone at our table noted their meal was too spicy.

We arrived at the restaurant by boat and were helped with parking the boat at the dock – the dock staff were very polite, engaging, and helpful. Our group of 8 was seated a little after 1. The restaurant was full, but we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. However, it took a full 2 hours to receive our food after ordering. Even then, our meals came out staggered by 20+ minutes. The last meal, a burger and fries, came out so late that all 7 of the others were finished eating. We asked for that last meal to be prepared to-go and as the bartender was boxing the last meal we saw her eat a french fry off the plate before boxing it up! Although the view is pretty and it seems a nice option by boat, the wait time was exceptionally long and the unprofessionalism of the staff eating off the plate are reasons we will not return and would not recommend to anyone else.

We started with appetizers. The alligator bites were fresh and tender, the crab dip was flavorful and creamy with plenty of crab. The tacos are amazing. They were fresh, served hot, and plated with care. The sauces were very good. It is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant itself is quaint. The view of the water and marina is nice. There is also outdoor seating. The waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, took very good care of us. The chef engaged with the diners and was very accommodating. It was a very pleasant visit and great meal!
