This place is amazing for both burgers and breakfast. The burgers are packed with flavor and generously sized, easily some of the best I’ve had recently. The breakfast biscuits are always fresh, soft, and perfectly fluffy. Every visit has been consistently satisfying and I keep coming back for more.

I remember when I first found Biscuit Express.
I was on the way to Hardee’s to get what would be my last bacon egg and cheese biscuit from Hardee’s when I saw it and said “hmm… I’ll have to try that place.”
So I did, and the rest was history. I was already looking to walk away from Hardee’s after they decided to start not bothering to fill the gravy container when ordering a biscuit and gravy. No need for it to overflow, but when I’ve only got enough for half of a biscuit, it’s gonna rub me wrong.
But it turned out to be a good thing because Biscuit Express is better in every way. At least up until the last year or so. Make no mistake, the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit is still my go-to for the place. That’s a must grab any time you go.
Unfortunately it seems they have adopted Hardee’s practice of not bothering to fill the gravy container; so if this is the beginning of the end… so be it I guess; I’ll begin my search again. I wish it were a one-off circumstance, but it has happened more times than not when I order a biscuit and gravy over the course of the last 8-12mo or so. I don’t always order it so I can’t say exactly when it started or if it is a new change in general. But I’d guestimate 4 out of my last 6 times I ordered it had the “issue.” And that’s about twice as many chances as I generally give a place, but Biscuit Express is/was genuinely a gem of the area.
Fortunately the friendly service is still intact and much welcome in the area; as service across Huntsville has largely become very hit-or-miss over the years where not wholly non-existent.
Even if it’s starting to slip a bit, for the moment I still recommend that you pay the place a visit if at all possible. I’ve never had a bad bite from the place and I’ve probably sampled at least half of the menu in my half decade or so of visits. Even the lunch menu has some tasty grabs if you’re nearby. My next 60% filled container of gravy might be the last straw; but for the moment I still couldn’t recommend a better place for a good southern breakfast.
Just be prepared to wait a while though; but when it’s done right, it’s definitely worth the wait.

My first visit to this location was an amazing experience! The sweet lady that took our order was extremely friendly,helpful and patient with us! My husband forgot a few items and she graciously allowed us to order them at the window. She didn’t make us feel like an inconvenience, even though breakfast was almost over. The food was delicious as well! The biscuits were soft, flaky and flavorful. Affordable pricing, kind staff and good food will make my family a repeat customer!!

UPDATE: 2/27/26: Been a while since I stopped in and felt the need to leave a review, so here I am! Usually I stop in for breakfast, today it was lunch, fried chicken sandwich (w/o the tomato, add cheese and bacon please). So very good, savory and tender, soft bun, crisp lettuce, not that weak or shredded crap either. So filling too, made grocery shopping afterwards much easier, no unnecessary impulse purchases this time if ya know what I mean! Worth the drive and money if your not local to Meridiaville to stop for a bite! And if you are local, why haven’t you stopped in yet!
UPDATE: 11/18/2023: Saturdays are even busier than the weekday just so y’all know. Ordered a 3 stack of pancakes. WOW. Note to self they are HUGE! I had to re-plate them at home and split the stack and still couldn’t finish them. They’re the size of a dinner plate and about an inch thick. Very good! And now i have leftovers for Sunday breakfast too!
Update 10/14/2023: There might have been a mighty long line in front of me and behind me (went around the bldg out the drive and up Hwy 231/431) but it moved super fast!! Bacon, egg &cheese biscuit -excellent as always. Tried the cinnamon roll today too. Was real good but I find the royal icing to be too sugary sweet. Would be fantastic with a cream cheese icing. (Comparable to Cinnabon in my opinion!) The sweet tea is pretty darn good too! New owners are doing a fantastic job!
Review date 7/19/2023: I don’t know what has stopped me from trying Biscuit Express all these years but man do I wish I had tried them 23 yrs ago when I first moved here! The Biscuits are top notch, none better than these!! The bacon, egg & cheese biscuits are yummy and so filling. The chicken biscuit with cheese and add bacon, ohh wow, so good! The chicken is seasoned and breaded perfectly! I WILL be back!! Their prices are not current on the board but they are working to fix that. I think the prices are good for the amount of food you get, so worth every penny.

I ordered 2 ham egg and cheese breakfast burritos and a small tot and it cost 25 DOLLARS! I was told food was good so I get home and burritos were inedible. Bitter and over salted. I couldn’t even eat this very expensive breakfast. Very disappointed.
So i called and asked to get an exchange or work something out because the food we got was so bad. They refused to do anything. So myself personally and my family will never eat there again. Very long wait time, very expensive and the food we got i would not feed to my dog. I have never heard of a restaurant that doesn’t back up the quality of their food. To refuse to even work something out says a lot.

$10 for a breakfast platter that only comes with 6 tater tots that are SOGGY. 2 folded eggs that are cold and a biscuit with sausage that is cold… Absolutely gone downhill in recent years. Not worth the price anymore. What was once a staple in this area is severely underwhelming at best now.
