The Big Greek Cafe is a family-owned casual restaurant chain, serving traditionally inspired Greek dishes, made of quality ingredients at reasonable prices. We offer traditional Greek food like spanakopita and moussaka, salads and bowls and are especially well known for our pita sandwiches namely our famous gyro pita that we sell for only $7 on Wednesdays! We believe that relationships, family, and community are built around delicious meals. Rockville, we can’t wait to serve you!
Relaxed eatery offering hearty stuffed pitas & souvlaki platters, plus other typical Greek fare.

Generally, I find that any of the Big Greek Cafe locations are consistent with both the quality of the food and customer service. However, this location provided me the worst experience I’ve had with this chain. On 03/04/26, I placed an online order and was informed my order would be ready by 8:10pm. I arrived at the restaurant a bit earlier than the pick-up time (about 8:07pm), and was told it wasn’t ready. Given that it was $7 gyro day, I was fine with waiting until the stated time I was given for pick-up. That’s where my experience went down hill quickly. About 3-4 people entered the store, placed their orders at the counter, and to my surprise, received their food before me. Even getting the attention of the employees running the register was difficult, as they were either busy getting the orders of those customers that had just placed order ready, or were too busy making small talk with other customers to even notice that I was still waiting on my food. About 15 minutes later, they noticed I was still waiting, and finally inquired about what was taking so long. Add on another 10 minutes and I finally received my food. This unacceptable long wait completely defeats the purpose on placing an online order, especially if those placing their order in-person are going to receive better treatment with the timeliness of their order. Maybe I should have known better when I noticed all of the orders piled up in the order window, unbagged and just sitting there. Adding insult to injury, my food was all cold. The employee who finally got my order ready did apologize, but by that point the damage was already done. The apology won’t give me back the lost time it cost me, and I wouldn’t recommend going to this location.

The Big Greek Café on Norbeck Road is easily one of the best restaurants around. The service is exceptional, and the staff is always warm and welcoming. Cristian, in particular, goes above and beyond — he greets us every time we visit and treats us with such patience and kindness. The food is consistently flavorful and perfectly prepared, never disappointing. This is our go-to spot whenever we want a meal that truly satisfies. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the friendly, home-like atmosphere. The management runs the place beautifully. Highly recommend — truly a 10/10 experience.

I had been craving Moussaka and where we live has no Greek restaurants within a 75 mile radius. We found ourselves in Rockvill and came across the Big Greek Cafe. Their service was great, but food even better. Way better than I even expected. We will be back! Please give them a try if you are in the area, you won’t be sorry!

Omg this is such a great place! We were in the area for a baseball game and needed a quick bite to eat. We discovered this place near by and it did not disappoint! The food was excellent. We also tried the almond wedding cookies, which didn’t make it home. They were delicious. They have $7 Gyro Wednesdays – we tried the chicken souvlaki and it was really good. Dining area with several tables to dine in. Note – the parking lot is horrible. Very small and difficult to get in and out of

More Than a Meal: It’s Family at The Big Greek Cafe
Walking into the Big Greek Cafe at the intersection of Georgia and Norbeck isn’t just a business transaction; it’s like visiting a friend’s home. The relationship you develop as a regular with the family and staff creates an atmosphere of genuine goodwill, trust, and care.
Christian, in particular, stands out for his incredible hospitality.
He gets to know his clients by name and remembers their favorite dishes and exactly how they like them served. Whether you have specific dietary needs—like low-sodium requirements or avoiding certain ingredients—the team listens with every courtesy to ensure your meal nourishes both your body and soul.
The Menu Highlights:
* The Ladies’ Favorite:
The Salmon is an absolute standout. The lemon vinaigrette is the star condiment that ties it all together perfectly.
* The Guys’ Choice:
You can’t beat the hearty Gyro Platter or the Chicken with spices for a satisfying, authentic meal.
* The Must-Have:
Whatever you do, don’t forget the rice pudding! It is the perfect sweet finish to a wonderful experience.
This isn’t just “fast-casual” dining; it’s a friendly community staple where you are treated like family. I highly recommend stopping by for a meal that feels as good as it tastes. This is a meal which will nourish your soul and appetite!

LOVE Big Greek Cafe! We usually get the Gyro salads, which are fantastic (and definitely a meal and a half). The Gyros are delicious and their menu is pretty big, so there is something for everyone.
We usually call ahead and carry out as parking can be tight and there are not a ton of tables.
100% recommend Big Greek Cafe at Norbeck and Georgia!

Easy-going casual spot for modestly-priced, delicious Greek food! With 6 Montgomery County locations (not to mention their Food Truck), this venue speaks to the demand for a middle ground dining niche that is slowly assuming an endangered title. Yet they are going strong as ever!
Everything on the Menu is delicious; no exceptions! The Dolmades, the Greek fries, the Roasted Chicken & Potato Entree, and the falafel bowl are some of my favorites! Salads are always fresh and if you manage to find any room for desert, don’t skip out on the Classic Baklava or Baklava Cheesecake!
Wednesdays are 1/2 Price Gyros (at least at the Norbeck Road location), so if you somehow find yourself a skeptic venture out for gyro in pita that will render your fandom. Insider tip: put a few Greek fries into your gyro sandwich if you want to blow your mind with delectability!
