The Belltower Bar has a decent menu for small snacks and tasty margaritas, offering views of Santa Fe’s historic plaza below. The vantage of flat roofs and AC units isn’t quite as dazzling as we’d hoped, but the space is relaxing, and La Fonda itself has an interesting lobby and design work throughout, such as the lovely elevator doors.

Will not return: the view is ok.
This rooftop bar is on top of the La Fonda Hotel’s Bell Tower, offers the panoramic view, which is somewhat ok.
The 5-floor hotel is historical. One elevator is out of order and the other one is extremely slow.
The guacamole is fresh but rather tasteless.

Want a Sunset Experience??? Just walking through La Fonda Hotel to the Bell Tower was a sacred photographic, and artistic/handycraft, pilgrimage through the 30’s through the 50’s! Every room and hallway were filled with ,visually, savory artifacts.

This is a fabulous place to watch the sunset. The view across the city is spectacular. The place was busy but we were seated quickly. Our order took a bit of time to arrive but not an unreasonable of time since a single bartender seemed to be handling the entire place. Drinks were excellent: Paloma and boulevardier. We also tried the charcuterie board, but pricey and a few more crackers would have been nice but was fresh and just enough.

They used to have a great happy hour for margaritas. No more. One Star. Way to go…if you’re not a 1% or you’re an expert on racking up credit card debt, I’d stay away. It used to be a great place.

At our first time in Santa Fe, my wife and I were celebrating an anniversary and wanted a sunset view with drinks. The Bell Tower Bar was highly recommended, so we went there at the last minute. It was a lovely setting, great drinks and appetizers, and amazing sunset view. Exactly what we wanted and needed. We had to wait a bit and there was a complication with seating, but the hostess (I think her name was Anabel) went above and beyond to personally meet us in the lobby and make sure we had great seats with a perfect sunset view. Amazing service!

Cute bar with cool beats and nice servers. The drinks are surprisingly good given the main selling point is sunset. (At least in NYC, places with views seems to skimp a little on drink quality.) That being said I think the view is not amazing and the sun is super hot at sunset, as it is in many places in Santa Fe! Definitely worth a visit though for the overall ambiance!

The drinks are ok. Really what this place is about is watching the sunset with a cocktail. (As you’ll notice in most reviews). Just go do it. You won’t regret it!

One of my absolute favorite spots in my hometown. The fires up top are stunning, the drinks are great, and the appetizers are tasty. Servers are attentive and friendly. If you’re looking for good drinks and a great view in Santa Fe this is your spot

I think I had an adult beverage but I’ve got to say the sunset stole the show. I got there about 45 min before sunset and was able to grab a stool facing West. I went on my own as others in my party thought they had better things to do. Wow, were they wrong! The photos speak for themselves.
