It must have been an accident, fate, kismet, karma, planets aligning, or something…but, I may have just found a hidden gem of bars and happy hours…IN THE HEART OF LOS ANGLES.
Like I said, I came to The Bel Air Bar and Grill after a day at the Getty and… WHAT. A. FIND. My party and I were tired from a day of ” museumimg” and wanted to find a quick bite to eat and indulge in some “adult beverages”.
Low and behold, we happened upon The Bel Air Bar and Grill.
They have a weekday happy hour from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday is all day happy hour in the bar, not sure about Sundays. (I included pictures of the menu, 2/19/2026).
We walked in approximately (530pm) and we were immediately greeted with a smile and friendly voice by Evan the bartender. His coworker buddy, Martin, was also there but he was off-duty and taking in some suds. Both dudes were super shill and cool.
The atmosphere was mellow and relaxed. The music wasn’t too loud and it wasn’t too soft…just the right volume to hear it but low enough to carry on a conversation without yelling.
The decor was mostly earth-tones, warm colors, and just sent out an overall comforting, inviting vibe with just the right lighting; not too bright, yet, not too dark.
There were 10 seats at the bar, two of which were any cap accessible, and also a table for six in the bar area. They dining room contained 8 tables with seating up to 25 guests.
Evan is a single man show but HE IS ON TOP OF IT.
If this review turns The Bel Air Bar and Grill into a madhouse, give them some time to ramp up the staff because, at the time, Evan was on top of serving my party of 4, four tables in the dining room (totalling 14 guests), and 4 people at the bar.
And, they also take reservations over the phone!
As of this writing, the menu is Italian and American fare with entrees are priced between $20 to $50 (NY Steak). Starters and soup start at $5.95.
I’ll include pics of the menu from 2/19/2026
I’d classify this gem as a neighborhood eatery and bar. It’s a place for locals but they can make anyone feel at home , and….make any drink you want.
If you want a mellow place to chill and relax after a day at the Getty, this is the place for you. They have fantastic food, fantastic food, and FANTASTIC prices. This place is definitely a hidden gem.
IMHO, The Bel Air Bar and Grill is in the heart of LA and at the time of this review, their prices are SLIGHTLY LOWER than the average Los Angles bar/restaurant!!! If you factor in the atmosphere, ambiance, setting, convenience, LOS ANGELES… This place is definitely five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ in my opinion.
Secret pro tip #1, the listed hours may not be completely accurate…in favor of the “thirsty guests”
Secret pro tip #2, they have two parking stalls with COMPLIMENTARY, FREE Level 2 EV chargers!!! ⚡⚡⚡
FYI , I only ordered from the happy hour menu!
I may just visit this place more than the Getty museum… because it’s THAT good.
Lastly, please take care of the bar and wait staff; take care of them and they will take care of you.
Thank you
tony the bartender has the best margaritas and micheladas !!!! check him out great personality he makes u feel like at home !!!
