Social Profile:

Nested in Achrafieh, on a street that houses the charming and well-preserved ancient buildings of the Lebanese capital, the Beirut Cellar is a restaurant where authenticity and good ambiance combine to make it a sought-after place, minus the bling and show off. And this has been true since 1978! Needless to say, we have seen it all! From the glory days to the war, Beirut Cellar has always been a solid pillar, a safe haven, and a symbol of Lebanese resilience. After a renovation that lasted over a year. we finally repoened our doors in september 2023 Our Yellow Lantern is back…so are our classics! That range from sambousek to veal escalope or risottos! Yes, our menu is as timeless & eclectic as our crowd, our decor and Beirut as a whole.

The Beirut Cellar is a place that immediately carries a sense of legacy and authenticity. With decades of history behind it, the restaurant feels both timeless and well-preserved, offering an atmosphere that blends warmth with elegance.

From the moment I arrived, the service stood out. One of the floor managers quickly picked up on my preferences, welcoming me with genuine attentiveness even when I decided to change tables. This kind of down-to-earth professionalism set a very positive tone.

The dining experience itself was excellent. I ordered a bottle of wine recommended by the staff along with a few dishes, and everything from the flavors to the presentation was spot on. The atmosphere, with its dimmed lights, and carefully curated music, made the meal feel intimate and special.

The indoor space is stylish and comfortable, while the small glass-covered terrace offers a more romantic setting, ideal for couples. With its vintage charm, attentive service, and consistently good food, The Beirut Cellar is one of those restaurants you’ll want to revisit again and again.

Yesterday we decide to try this authentic old restaurant in ashrafieh. We went for a dinner we had roquefort salad was amazing with nice after taste, gnocchi a la pesto was average, escalope was delicious too.
The service was amazing and super professional. Very cozy and beautiful ambiance in this restaurant. A little bit expensive but comparing of the experience its nice.

The Beirut Cellar is a blast from the past. One of the cornerstone’s of fine dining in Beirut is back and better than ever. A trifecta of great food, excellent service, and a relaxing joyful atmosphere nestled in the most vibrant yet relaxed parts of Beirut. It should be on top of your list whenever you’re in town.

It was nice to visit the Beirut cellar again. The decor and the menu have been updated but you can still see the history it carries. Three stars for the food because some dishes were good others were average.

Renovated and redecorated after the damages incurred during the war; it is brighter now and a little less charming but still cozy.
The menu is different and more modern and of course the prices were jacked up. The salads were good but the Scalopini for example was average and was served lukewarm.
We had the french toast, it was also average.
The service is nice and professional; no complaints there.
Not very crowded, no loud music, a perfect place to meet up with some friends if in the mood to chat and have a bite without the loud music and the show off ambiance that’s prevailing in Lebanon.

The Beirut Cellar was just okay (me being generous with that choice of wording), the vibes are nice, the waiters are professional, aaand that’s about it. Nothing justifies the pricing, I understand they need to stay fair and competitive compared to the market, but unfortunately for them what the market is offering has a bit more flavour (fortunately for us). The food is mid in every sense of the word. Nothing particularly impressive, special or noteworthy and the portions are relatively small. Overall nothing to write home about.

A heritage place, one of the oldest in town for good steak.
The place has kept its good quality. The menu is new, with a lot of selection. Food is always good. Many good options such as steaks, beef carpaccio, mushroom pasta, good salads…
Staff are trained and friendly.
The place is quite, suitable during the week for a working lunch.
