We had the pleasure of dining here this evening, following a recommendation from acquaintances. As we did not have a reservation, we were seated at the bar. The atmosphere, staff, cocktails, and cuisine were exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the crab cakes appetizer and the Friday night walleye fish fry, accompanied by sweet potatoes with a caramel drizzle. Each dish was remarkable.
We look forward to returning to experience the highly recommended ribeye, a local favorite.

We recently had a fantastic dining experience at the Bear Trap Inn in Land o’ Lakes Wisconsin. Despite it being a super busy and lively night, our server, Hannah, was incredibly friendly and efficient, handling the rush with impressive grace.
The food was a definite highlight. The mussels were a standout. They were served in a unique and delicious cream sauce, which was a welcome diversion from the typical white wine sauce. They’re absolutely worth a try! The crab cakes were also excellent, packed with crab meat and full of great flavor. Our side salad came out quickly, but at $10, it wasn’t worth the price.
For our main courses, we tried the walleye fish fry and the Brussels sprouts. The walleye was flaky and had a subtle, satisfying flavor. The fries that came with it were super tasty, with a great flavor we couldn’t quite pinpoint. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly crispy and had a slight lemon flavor that made them very good.
Overall, the Beat Trap Inn delivered a memorable meal in a lively atmosphere. We highly recommend it.

Let it snow! This time of year is the best to dine here. It is a lovely place and fine dining experience in the Northwoods/Western UP border.

I have been coming to the Bear Trap my entire life. It has always been great, but in the last decade since being owned by the Baertschy’s, it has consistently been spectacular. Tom (the chef and owner) is extremely talented. The garlic stuffed tenderloin is hands down the best steak I have had ANYWHERE. Same with the prime rib- you can’t have prime rib without au jus and horseradish and Bear Trap does it right, every single time. I have stopped ordering prime rib at other restaurants- no where else comes even close to Bear Trap. The bacon wrapped scallops are somehow always cooked to *perfection.* Incredible wine list. Warm and cozy ambiance. Staff that is efficient, friendly, and seriously amazing at what they do. Their heart and soul is poured into this place and it shows. 10/10 every single time!

This is my favorite place in the Northwoods. But unfortunately we went for my birthday dinner and we were very disappointed. Steaks were over done and risotto was a “weird” flavor.
Not sure if we will be back. Our server was great, but the bartender was not friendly. Seemed like we were a bother to her.
So sad. I send people there all the time because I felt it was so special. Not really this time.

Great people, great food, and great ambiance! The staff at The Bear Trap Inn are top notch. They are welcoming, respectful, and accommodating. From drinks to appetizers to entrees, our food was cooked to order and very flavorful. After 75+ supper clubs, their Old Fashioneds are easily among my top 5. The exterior and interior is just as one would imagine in a Northwoods setting. It is cabin like with a fireplace and tastefully decorated. The door handle on the entrance is most definitely unique! Visit The Bear Trap Inn for a thoroughly fantastic supper club experience!

We are from out of town and went here for our 8 year anniversary. The service was amazing, but the food was spectacular! Prosecco, bacon wrapped scallops, garlic filet, lobster tail, duck, grasshopper! The entire meal was amazing and will be back soon! Thank you for a very special night!

Everything was perfect. We will definitely come back.
The Bear Trap Inn, Honey Bear in Eagle River, and White Stag in Sugar Camp are all on par. Must go places.
They take credit cards, and definitely make reservations. It’s a small restaurant, so you will need reservations.
The service was impeccable. Food was delicious. Food was homemade and local. It was an excellent value. Super friendly wait-staff.
And I love a bar with good classic beers and cheese curds.
We sat right away because we ate at the bar. You will need reservations for the dining room. Unless you want to eat at the bar.

There were five of us at dinner last night. Our waitress was amazing, the food was great, and the drinks were great! Our only complaint is that butcher paper on our table. I appreciate why you use it, but the tail of the paper gets caught on our hands as we put our hands in our laps during eating. If the paper was at the edge of the table and not overhanging, it would be better. I think that would be a better solution. From my perspective, this is just some constructive criticism. Once again, thank you very much for a wonderful meal!
