I was on a road trip and stopped at this spot. I was craving BBQ and it was neat to see a homemade BBQ spot. The food was great. I got the most popular item, which is the tri tip sandwich combo. The tri trip was tender and not too much seasoning, you could actually taste the tender meat. The bread was buttered and toasted. The atmosphere and customer service will have me coming back here when I make this road trip.

I recently visited The BBQ Place and tried their 3-meat combination, which included garlic bread, macaroni salad, potato salad, beans, and a selection of tri-tip, pork ribs, and beef ribs. The garlic bread was excellent—a perfect, flavorful start to the meal.
Among the meats, the pork ribs stood out as the best, with their tender texture and smoky flavor. Both the hot and mild BBQ sauces complemented the meat well, adding the right balance of spice and sweetness without overwhelming it. The tri-tip and beef ribs were good too, though the pork ribs definitely stole the show. The sides were solid, with the macaroni and potato salads adding a nice cool contrast to the BBQ flavors, while the beans were just okay.
The staff was friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I would return to The BBQ Place, especially for those delicious pork ribs!

People are definitely lying about this bbq place this place is straight trash I ordered chicken and tri tips and it’s zero flavor there’s no taste of any grilling in the meat I’m so mad I spent 27 dollars for something I could cook myself they took the chicken breast and just grilled it on a flat top with no seasoning I’m how highly upset about coming here the whole point of bbq is to get that Smokey taste they just pretty much cooking it In oven while having a whole lot of bbq sauce cooking to make the place smell Smokey and that macaroni salad is the worse I’ve had in my life this is no different than someone tricking you or your money in front of 7 eleven trying to sell you something this type of stuff has to stop because if I was still in streets I would’ve went back in there and threw all that food in they face I’m wanting to fight about my 27 dollars I don’t like nobody playing with my money but these businesses think because it’s a business they can get away with doing bad business anyway you can go if you want to but nothing will ever beat flints bbq from Oakland California I hate all janky people and all janky businesses I hope all yall have bad luck since yall doing bad business

I’ve tried various Tri-Tip Sandwiches around Ventura County and by far this is my favorite sandwich. The meat itself is delicious, the bread roll is simple, but flavorful, and the homemade BBQ sauce is the best! The spicy is actually really spicy, so what I do is ask for “half and half” which is half mild, and half spicy BBQ sauce. The homemade chips are also really great! This is a must get for me every time I’m in Fillmore.

I stopped by The BBQ Place in Fillmore after a round of golf and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I ordered the tri tip plate, which turned out to be delicious and satisfying. The portions were generous, and it definitely hit the spot for my post-golf hunger.
For my sides, I chose the baked beans and garlic bread. While the garlic bread was fairly standard, the baked beans were quite good and complemented the meal nicely.
The pricing felt fair considering the amount of food I received, and the service was excellent. The guy behind the counter was nice and helpful, making the overall experience even better.

I seen this place when I was passing by and the smell is what caught my attention. I got the 3 beef rib plate with the spicy BBQ sauce and it was amazing. The flavor of the BBQ sauce had just the right amount of spiciness, it really complimented the real tender ribs perfectly. I will definitely be coming back to try something different, until I have tried everything on the menu. I would recommend everyone try this place.
