Delicious BBQ with very friendly service! We all ordered pulled pork (in sandwich or plate form) with different sides and milkshakes. Everyone loved the pulled pork and all of their sides – the garlic mashed potatoes and the potato salad were two of the favorite sides. They had great chip selection with healthier chip options too (hippeas, popcorners)! I ordered the sweet and spicy sauce (mango habanero) on my pulled pork, which was delicious with a little kick but I didn’t find it too overly spicy. The milkshakes were fabulous with lots of flavor options and mix ins. Outdoor seating only which was perfect for a warm summer night. The woman working at The BBQ Pit was very friendly and helpful in answering all our questions about the menu. Definitely worth the stop in Seeley Lake!

Please keep it going! The meats are melt in your mouth with a wonderful smoke as good BBQ should have. You can tell it’s the real deal from the aroma at the pick-up window! Honestly, she could charge a little more, especially considering the portion sizes.

Stopped for lunch. Ordered a small pulled pork sandwich which came with small bag of chips $13ish with smoky sauce. Also ordered a medium pulled pork plate,1 meat and came with a small bag of chips and a side, I opted for coleslaw and had sweet and spicy sauce $20ish. Also got 2 drinks @ $2.00 each. Total bill was $37.. A little pricey for what you get. One and done for us.
Went to find a table and found one but it appeared to not have been wiped down as you could see the bbq sauce from previous customers, so I grabbed a napkin and wiped it off….
The pulled pork was very bland, almost little flavor and it had no signs of being smoked, not crispy at all, just soft ,so no clue how it was cooked. The sweet sauce was good. Coleslaw was fine. The lady that took our order was great.

My family are big meat eaters. I am not. But saw there were a couple options I could try. There are a few things I have to avoid so I don’t get sick. I always ask questions and if accommodations can’t be made it isn’t a problem.
I inquired what ingredients were in the vegan burger. The person at the window gave me a blank look and replied “vegan things.”
I waited for a second thinking they might get someone who could answer the question. They rolled their eyes and said they guessed they could go look. At that point I gave up and said not to worry about it. I lost all trust that my food wouldn’t get messed with after receiving such snark.
The rest of the family all got the pulled smoked brisket sandwiches. The report was so so. A bit dry and tough. Didn’t have a smoky flavor to it.
The shade was nice though.

Passing through Seeley Lake in stumbled upon this gem in the wilderness, the barbecue here is spectacular, the service was fast and friendly. I do highly recommend this Wayside barbecue pit. So when you got the munchies going up the Montana highway definitely stop in here.

I’m sorry, but this brisket was literally the worst I’ve had in a few decades. My wife said the same thing. First off, it was not brisket. Brisket is a fatty piece of meat. This had not a speck of fat. Second, it was DRY. It really tasted like it was boiled. Solid, dry, meat. Not a piece of brisket. The beat part of the meal was the potato chips, and I dont like potato chips. Never again! A,v
nd yes I’ll tell others that in my opinion you should pass. Sorry, but the first 1 star rating I have given a restaurant. Ever. Really, I think it was that bad.

Pretty uninspiring brisket, pulled pork, and potato salad, honestly. I do better at home and I don’t make ‘pulled brisket’ I properly slice across the grain and I don’t get rid of all the tasty fatty bits. Plus mine actually has a smoke ring and smoky flavor. I was uncertain if it all hadn’t just been done in a slow cooker. Same with the pulled pork. Sweet sauce was just….sweet. Nothing to it other than that really. Potato salad was basically too much mayo and not enough of anything else that might make it pop.

Barely edible, the pulled pork had zero indication of being smoked or spiced, dry and flavorless. Watched them microwave a suspiciously colored burger, looked like black bean veggie patty. Cinnamon spiced apples were also dark brown like chicken livers, mushy and sweet, no tang or sauciness. Better mac and cheese can be found in a box. Strawberry milkshake was Nesquick style strawberry, not made with strawberry ice cream. Every single item we ordered was disappointing.
