Such an authentic bar. The vibe really gives you the bayou. They have cute little hotsauces dancing around the edges of the room. Different size tables. Even though its a bar it us very kid friendly. They even have shows at times or quiz moments which is cute. The serving size is pretty big as well. The drinks are strong. From scenery and food you can forget that this is a bar but the drinks will definitely remind you. 2 or 3 and you are done for the night I promise! There are four main waiters I love the female with the arm tat she is so friendly and can multitask without forgetting you. I would go again as a date night or a night cap after work

We were seated immediately and given menus. We got Ma n Cheese and fried calamari both were very good. The complementary salad gad a sweet dressing that we also enjoyed. For the main course we had the meatloaf and the steak covered with onions. I ordered my steak well done, but it was still a bit pink inside so I ate around the edges. It was a good portion, and it tasted good. The onions were left in oil too long so they tasted like pure oil. The meatloaf was also a huge portion, and had a very good sauce on it, but without the sauce it was a bit bland. We went on Valentines day and it got busy, and our second round of drinks sat for a bit at the bar because our waiter was busy, but the drinks were still very good. This was a good experience and we will return and try different dishes.

Great service, and food. The flavor on the chicken and coller greens was out of this world. The ribs were juicy and the meat fell right off the bone. Their home made salad dressing was so fresh tasting
Service was so attentive and easy. Good conversation. Plus good background music.
Only thought. Need better lighting in the bathroom. We will be back!

Great Cajun spot in mt vernon.
The interior of the bar and restaurant has a funky fun Cajun vibe.
The walls have a shelf with tons of different hot sauces to choose from.
We have been in for happy hour which is a lot of fun.
Dinner is always a great experience and the service is very attentive.
They have Cajun specialties like frog legs, crawfish and alligator who h makes this place even better.
They have a great specialty drink list as well.

Had a great time last night, staff makes you feel like you are Regulars! (Jen & Lucy). Food was very good! Crawfish were perfect! I had the Peppered Catfish (Blackened) w/smashed potatoes, and the Collard Greens were Great! Even the Salad was a step above, loved the House Creamy Basil Dressing!

My experience at the Bayou restaurant! The meal was nothing short of fantastic, as it always has been for years . We started off with the jalapeño poppers wow those spicy treats are not to be missed. The meatloaf, in particular is my favorite with its incredible taste. My wife’s choice of the Marinated skirt steak salad was equally delightful.
It is a fun atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. we didn’t get it this time but there build your own mac & cheese menu is incredible , The Bayou truly delivers on all fronts, from delicious dishes to a lively ambiance. And live music on a lot of weekends. We can’t wait to return for another fantastic meal!

I’ll def. be coming back here again. I went last Friday and it happened to be karaoke night. Had a great time. Upon first entrance , I was a bit turned away only because it took a little bit for someone to take my order or staff to acknowledge me, even though there weren’t much customers inside. When I chose a place to sit , I felt as though my waiter was more cleaning other tables than taking my order. However , past that , the night was a blast. I ended up getting the meat loaf which was a sizable portion for its price. The drinks don’t cost too too much and they do their thing. The appetizer , crab Rangoon I think it was called was also really good. The only downside of the food is , the cornbread was extremely dry. The place is intimate and the event thrown made it worthwhile. I’ll be back on another Friday lol.

First time at Bayou in 2 years and they are still outstanding. Great service and fresh Mud Bugs (crawfish) ! Forgot name of my favorite cocktail (spicy coconut something) but it tasted delicious and paired perfectly with my southern fried chicken and gravy. Whatever their salad dressing is, it taste like day one from 2007. The atmosphere is Nola proper. I have too many memories here to not return. Happy they haven’t dropped the ball on food and service ! Really hope the live music returns soon. This place is a favorite.

I’ve been dining here for many years. I have always enjoyed the food with my family and friends. The service is always on point. Nice people home town vibe live music on the weekends. I travel from Long Island specifically just to eat here and travel right back that’s how we feel about the food, drinks, service, and all around hospitality. This time we went for Sunday brunch and it didn’t disappoint. I’ll post some photos. We ordered chicken and waffles, chocolate chip pancakes, Buffalo wings, voodoo wings corn bread, collard greens, and of course the pot of mudbugs ( crayfish) enjoy. I know we did
